So its Roy Williams fault that a stupid owner paid him much more money than he is probably worth? Should he have said no? lol Get real..

Newman gets beat every game at least a few times and rarely makes plays on the ball. He'll make a good play and then give up a bad play. He's been inconsistent his whole career. That's simply who he is.

    Some of these posts....wow.

So I guess now the Cowboys should fire a player every time he makes a mistake?

We'd be out of players within a month.

"Newman is what you'd consider a shut-down corner," one scout said. "Talented player. Long arms. Some say he's still a top five (cornerback). Not real big and physical, but he will go in and cut a guy down."

I didn't claim he was beaten deep, I said he's been TOASTED all year. That means deep, short, medium, anyway a CB could be toasted, it's been done to him this year. He can barely tackle anybody anymore and when he does, he injures something, which is why the Giants love to play against him. What happened last year doesn't matter. He's not a " potential " player growing into his position. He's an aging veteran who skills keeps diminishing every year.

IN terms of money, your boy is scheduled to make 8 millions, 6 millions, 7.6 millions, and 7.5 millions until his contract ends and he's currently 32 years old. There isn't a GM on this planet who'd pay him half that money if he became available tomorrow. Roy Williams is schedule to make 5 millions, 6 millions, and 8 millions ( last 2 years are voidable ) and he's 28 years old.

So if it's a salary cut, guess who's going out first ?

and YES, you ARE giving him a pass. You're blaming Roy Williams for losing the game because of his fumble, yet not doing the same for your boy giving up a 50 yard bomb 3 plays AFTER that fumble. The Saints defense did NOT score any points by picking up RW fumble, but the Saints offense DID score a TD after your boy gave up that bomb, yet RW lost the game.

    Seriously?

If Williams scores a TD or if Dallas punches it in like they had recently been doing, you are up 11. Dallas lost points and missed a chance to bleed the clock down.

N.O's defense was tiring. It was showing...

Williams let them off the hook'em...

Dallas' defense would have been in cover 2...

    UP 11!

Roy Williams keep your head up.....

..........as you stroll out the door.

I don't think i've ever hated a Dallas Cowboy more than I hate Roy Williams (Scandrick included). Words cannot begin to describe my dislike for this pitiful excuse for a football player.

I don't know how anyone can look at this game any different, Roy Williams lost this game. Period. If he holds on to the ball, the probability of us winning the game is very high. You can go back in any football game and point out plays in the game that impacted the outcome, but none moreso than Roy's fumble. To me, it's paramount to handing the ball off to a running back trying to run out the clock; the one thing he can't do is fumble.

At the end of the day with Roy, it's all aboout some balance. If the guy played like he's being paid, you take the loss and move on, knowing that he's going to give you more productivity that leads to wins than errors (or fumbles) that lead to losses (think Aikman and Irvin in the 94 NFC Championship game and leon Lett vs Miami which has been mentioned in this thread). We just don't get that with Roy Williams. I'm sick of his dropped passes at the most inopportune times, his lack of knowing the playbook and lining up wrong or running the wrong routes and, of course, his fumbles. This is nothing new with this guy. He's been an epic failure since he arrived in Dallas.

So Roy fumbling is worse than our 6 other fumbles today combined by this logic..

You realize that if Roy didn't make such a good block we don't get the Miles Austin TD on the end around right?

Shh tonight this is the no logic zone. Right after a tough emotional loss is no time to expect highly emotional crybabies to realize that one play didn't lose this game.

    Are you a Texas fan?

Only a Texas Longhorns fan would say a third WR with that contract survives over a very good CB like Newman.

Dez Bryant would have scored in that play. That wouldn't have even caught him.

NFL people believe Bryant will be among the very elite in the game. Just wait until he gets a year under his belt.

Miles Austin is a Pro Bowl caliber player.

Roy Williams is just a nice 2, not great.

However, he might want to learn how to protect the football when the game is in his hands. This isn't the first time Williams has fumbled a game away. See GB last year...

Newman will play in Dallas for at least two more seasons and will probably retire a Dallas Cowboy.

Do you know how much CBs make in this league?

Newman's salary in the coming years is cheap by CB standards.
With Jenkins struggling some this year, there is no way Newman is going, anywhere. Plus, you have not exactly described his play this year accurately at all. Well see...If he's played like you claim, he's a for sure goner.. Well just see...

Only a crazy GM would keep a over priced, third WR..

Do you want to talk cap hits?

    Marion Barber
    Roy Williams
    Leonard Davis

These guys are as good as gone...

    Andre Gurode

    On shaky ground...

    Marc Colombo

    See ya...

    Kyle Kosier..walks

    Hatcher
    Spears
    Olshansky

    Brooking

    Good bye...

You can hope for Newman to be gone, but you will be sadly disappointed.

At that point in time in the game, absolutely. If you have the lead with 3 plus minutes left and, at worst, give the Saints the ball back with no time outs and very little time and possibly a 7 point lead, chances are you'll win. That was the game.

    Defending Roy Williams much RTH?

    Question:

Did Roy Williams secure that ball properly and finish what should have been a game deciding play?

    Yes or No

Did Alvin Harper fumble in 1992?

Did Dallas finish the 49ers in that game?

Sterling Sharpe talked about how Dallas gave that game away...He was referencing Roy Williams huge fumble.

Not defending his play at the end of the game. Look back at some of the threads, i said there's no excuse for fumbling right there. Its a bad play on his part.

I am however defending the flawed logic that one play makes an entire game. If we didn't fumble 6 other times or committ certain penalties or have 3 bad snaps we arn't in the same situation. You can not look at any football game and say we lost because of one play. The outcome changes with every play the entire game. Maybe if we don't fumble the first 6 times we're up by 20 at that point of the game and Roy fumbling then means nothing. That play wouldn't even have happened if not for the other 6 fumbles we had before that.

On the other hand.. if Roy isn't on the field to make that block that sprung Miles to the huge TD run, that's 7 points we don't have on the scoreboard. Alot of plays make up the outcome of a game, not one. Not ever.

McBriar never possessed the ball. He fumbled it and then kicked a loose ball.

    Stop the nonsense.
