Rumor: Cowboys made an offer to Arizona?

After last year, pretty much everyone KNOWS Fitz is AZs #1

Why is that? Because he got paid more than Boldin? Look at the YAC numbers for Boldin. 5.2 YAC compared to 3.3 for Fitzgerald in the last 3 years, and their yards per catch are pretty much equal. That is a 2 yard difference YAC, plus Boldin's numbers in terms of number of receptions in 3 years, adjusting for the 4 games missed by AB last year, is pretty much equivalent to LFs. Hell, in 2005, Boldin missed 2 games and still had 102 receptions, with an average of 100 yards per game. Boldin has hit plus 100 yards twice, including his first season.

I surely don't know that Arizona's number one receiver is LF.

He isnt that fast.... he is a beast and is good after the ball but he isnt fast at all. Thats why he fell in draft. He made plays at FSU but I think he ran a Peter Warrickesque 4.69 at the Combine.

Which makes it all the more beastly, considering his overall numbers are right up there with LF. The guy earns every single yard he gets.

But this leads us to the issue of speed and a deep threat that everybody claims Dallas needs opposite of TO. He attacks the ball and is good after the catch.

You know this line of thinking really never made much sense to me. I think TO is plenty fast enough to be the deep threat in this offense. As far as i'm concerned, we simply need a very good #2 WR, if Crayton can't fill the void.

Per Burnett TO is one of the fastest guys on the TO. I don't know how many posters I've seen claim TO was slow.

Right. T.O. isn't going to be around much longer and Dallas still has the task of finding his replacement. Adding a proven commodity now makes sense if they can finacially make it feasible.

BTW, I was joking about trading Carp along with Spears and a #1.:

I remember watching a game last year (i think) where TO ran passed a couple of DB in order to throw a block for one of the other WRs. Once he gets going i don't know if there are a lot of DB that can cover him. Plus, he is strong enough that they can't easily jam him at the line of scrimmage.

That would be the Rams game when Crayton made a long TD run after the catch. TO was behind him and ran down a safety I believe to block him for forcing Crayton out of bounds.

I'm not saying I wouldn't mind Boldin on the team, but I have never really seen him play. What is the stats on him? Whats so special about him?

he's got a surpurfulous nipple that makes his pads fit on funny.

oh, trust me i would love to have Boldin on this team. My response about TOs speed was just my opinion about the 'need' to get a speedy WR. If somehow Jerry manages to get Boldin here. We can draft a speedy WR to complement Boldin after TO calls it quits.

Romos worst throw might be the deep ball anyway.

Boldin is best underneath. And after the catch. His game is actually a lot like TO's.

It might get a little crowded over the middle though w/ T.O., Witt, Crayton, Boldin and my dad. But Miles looks like hes ready to bust out as a deep threat.

I have read/seen too many of these 'rumors' in too many offseasons.

I can't even enjoy the excitement of the possibility any longer because they NEVER pan out.

Will the "big name WR" tease never stop?

after we get one. then the GIMME GIMME GIMME crowd will pick another "dire need".

Dallas should trade for Boldin in a heartbeat. The problem is that Arizona has said that they will NOT trade him. Why would Arizona trade a top 10 WR in the last year of his contract? It doesn't make any sense unless someone offers them a blockbuster deal. If I was Steven Jones, I'de offer Arizona:

Dallas' 1st round pick in 09'
3rd round pick in 09'
3rd round pick in 09'
DE Marcus Spears

This leaves us with a 2nd round pick which Jerry will probably trade down with anyway! The chances are our 1st round pick will be pretty low so it's basically giving them an early 2nd rounder. Thoughts?

My buddy just sent me a text saying that 1310 said the boys offered Arizona Spears and 1st round pick for Boldin.

Is it true?

Did anybody else hear this?

I think you misunderstood...it was Coakley

we got 2 3rd in 09 or are we trying to jedi mind trick arizona?

you don't need our 2nd 3rd pick...this is not the pick you are looking for...
