Is he even going to net comp picks?

Seems to me he is going to have to spend time in a league where he can actually get some playing time.

Lance isn't ready to back up Dak yet, but the real question is will he be active and potentially get some plays? If they have wasted all this time working on his game, why on earth would you do so for him to not be active? Trade or keep, he needs to learn somehow
Just to clarify, what do you suppose an NFL team would be willing to trade for the Cowboys’ QB3, that is a free agent 27 weeks from now, its 72 hours from the start of the 2024 NFL season, and the guy looks like he is incapable of being a productive NFL quarterback? Two firsts? Most deluded Cowboys fans think the guy has value. I don’t.

Second straight year Lance couldn’t even win a backup job and he was given every opportunity this summer. Anyone who thinks he’s the Cowboys future starting QB better put down the bottle. If we ever get down to him having to be our starter, we’re in deep trouble.

Based on what we gave up for him (4th)...What others were willing to give up (5th or lower)...and how he performedthis preseason...up and down against 2nd, 3rd and off the roster players. I would say they would give up a conditional 6th or 7th pick at this point.

What? No one is trading for Trance.

I mean it’s a no brainer. 5-1 and knows the offense better. If Rush had an arm, he’d be starting.

He’s a much better QB with more experience that can go through his progressions..

The FO is probably waiting to see here they stand mid-season to make any real long-term decisions regarding QB. They have their number 1 in Lamb and brought youth to the OL.

Seems to me that the Cowboys wasted a lot of time (coaching time especially) this offseason on a 4th year dude that shows very little promise of being a quality backup let alone a legit starting NFL QB.

Lance should get a solid 8 years to prove himself though.
I thought Dallas might cut Rush during the NFL cutdown day.

Rush has been splitting snaps with Lance in camp.

and Lance clearly is more athletic than Rush.

Dallas could have saved $1 mil in cap by cutting/resigning Rush at vet min.

but it would have been an insult to Rush, and he likely would have signed somewhere else.

hes UFA after the season and likely won’t be back.

They didn’t exercise the 5th year option. Dak was practicing. Most teams don’t even play their starting QBs anymore, so I’m not sure you can really say they wasted it.

Did they get their info from the team, or is this more PFT crap?:popcorn:

Will Trey be active and they get him in a few plays like Hill gets in NO?
That’s exactly what I want to see.

He has a ways to go as a QB, but he has elite running skills and they should install a package for him. If nothing else, it gives the opponent something else to prep for.

They would have to dress one less ST guy. Maybe the new kickoff rules make that easier to do? I wouldn’t really know.

Seems that you are incorrect.

Jerry loves Lance.
