That's a pretty fair statement. I liked Gurode, but many were down on him before last year. Adams is a good point. I wasn't too jazzed about Kosier and am still skeptical, but he was okay. I was just pissed about LA being waived as he is one of my all time favorite players.

the Larry Allen situantion and the Emmitt Smith were his most questionable moves because of what they represent to the fans. Most of us want them to retire as Cowboys and it's just hard when they get up there in years. Jerry just couldn't afford the CAP space on guys on the downside of their carreers (He can thank his loyalty to Novacek, Aikman and Johnston for that). He had to take a calculated risk as to gauge how much left they had in the tank. A lot of HOF's have finished their illustrious carreers elsewhere. It's just than other than Tony Dorsett, it hadn't happened to us very often.

I just like bustin on you about the Fabinin thing Junk-- You're a solid poster and if this is the worst I can heap on you then you've done pretty well.

I do agree with that to a degree. But when you hear that he made a couple of moves despite input from his staff, it makes you wonder.

For instance reports are he was told to steer clear of Rogers. I got a report last year that the entire staff wanted Petitti over Fabini and he vetoed it. Pittdawg basically verified that Rob was told the same thing.

I had high hopes for Ryan Young and Marco Rivera. If you remember I was opposed to Fabini. It pissed a lot of people off.

Just seems like he was snake bit at OL moves here. Columbo paid off.

Fabini was released by the Jets before he came here, and they were saying the same thing we are saying now, is that he has lost it. When he was signed I was shocked and I actually though he would get cut before the first game of the year.

he was coming off rehab too.

i still liked fabini. he was playing LT just a year earlier, so he couldn't be THAT bad.

the decision to cut pettiti i think rested with what was on the roster and his potential. they had mcquistan and colombo as potential Ts. why have pettiti, if you're going to need someone to play this year? fortunately colombo panned out, so you can mark him as proven, and go after another potential player.

not sure why many misunderstand that release. Petitti lost his job to columbo, then he lost the developmental player roster spot to pat mcquistan.

we know davis was offered more in ny and we know the skins were after him too. these mythical 8 teams just make me wonder now. maybe so, but if there's bidding by 8 teams you don't get a bargain, so please show me these 8 teams and the proof they were seriously interested in kosier.

there's a reason davis went for more than kosier, even considering the salary cap. davis is either a better player or more potential - regardless of which team he came from.
