LOL .......tried to tell you guys Moore is Linehan boy. What's he saying here IMO, in a nutshell, is Kellen Moore has done nothing TO LOSE the backup job. Seriously, I doubt you'd find ANY vet coach hanging their hat on free agent rookie QB as his primary backup. That's not saying he wouldn't find a way to keep him but not in a major role for the season. If he still on the team this time next year.......different ball game. No question Moore is probably fighting for his job.........

So, when you balance that against the fact that Rush by far throws a prettier pass than does Kellen, I honestly don't know what is left to debate in terms of who is better? Does Kellen beyond a shadow of doubt do anything better than does Rush to justify being the primary backup to Dak. Once again, from my limited point of view, he does not. But Linehan's view is in no way limited; so if anyone could answer that question, it would be Linehan.

Not to mention that Rush has the size of a prototypical NFL QB whereas Moore does not.

At the risk of piling on, I take issue with labeling Moore a veteran. In terms of time- service he is a veteran. However, I want my veteran back-up QB to have actual game-day experience. Moore's experience is round-off error in the scheme of things.

I get he is a "coach on the field" and has Zen-like knowledge of the offense. How effective is that knowledge if he can't execute? In my mind, it is a bit like saying "I've mastered a flight simulator, therefore I can pilot a plane". A bit harsh, I know.

Actually the Broncos and Raiders are the two primary reasons we have Dak.

Linehan and Wilson are the primary reasons.

Scouts didn't like Dak, coaches loved him. That is why Dak is a Cowboy.

I wonder how long it took Patriot fans to not take cheap shots at their coaches for waiting so long to pick Brady...I doubt he was the top rated QB on their board...they simply waited to draft him until it made sense on their draft board, like the Cowboys did.

I really don't think Linnehan will come out and say "well....Moore has sucked". Wouldn't be nice for a guy you work with even if it is blatantly true...

Hey, as long as they keep Rush, then Linehan can have his pet cat in Moore.

But if they cut Rush and lose him because they want to keep Moore on the 53, that's beyond moronic.
If they waive Rush in order to put him on the PS, kiss him goodbye. The guy has a 150+ QB rating, going 17 for 19 for 197 yards, 3 TDs, & no interceptions. That's darn near perfect. Anyone who knows anything about football knows that Rush has won the backup job going away. One more game like he's been having & the team will look really foolish losing him.

And that's why he will be on the team.

Linehan is probably the reason we have Dak so should we give him a pass?

Yeah, I suppose but it's maddening. Moore is his BFF and he probably loves him in the QB room and the sidelines but DAMN Scott. Wake up man.

I think they like him specifically in the QB room to help the other guys along.

We carried Sanchez all last season and somehow managed. I don't get why people are so concerned about the 3rd QB spot now. With a 2nd year starter and a rookie you may want to develop, it seems like a reasonable time to keep 3 if you're ever going to.
I think that we have a number of interesting bubble players that might not make waivers. Keeping Moore isn't worth even a 10% probability of that occurrence. Make him a QB assistant and save a prospect.
