How is Mike a lame duck? Each year this team has progressed since he’s been here. Last year was even better as they replenished nothing at the skill positions and he still got a 12 win season and a playoff win on the road. Considering the two Bozo’s he’s working for he’s overachieved.

Keep in mind MM lack of security is a huge in attracting top-level coaches but damn, he's bottom-feeding. Hell, if I didn't know better, I would think Stephen Jones hiring these coaches.

But wait, now that I think about it.......is it possible Stephen and Jerry refused to give MM any more money for coaches. ( just remembered Frank Reigh (Panther new coach) saying his owner kept his promise to spend for him to put together a top coaching staff.

Attracting top level coaches? Yeah. Most of your top-level coaches are looking for position coaching jobs.

Most of the position coaches work on year-to-year deals anyway.

This has nothing to do with people not wanting to come here.

I highly doubt it, especially considering he is going to get a fresh new extension this summer.

The team aint carrying Dak's $50 million cap hit, its going to get lowered via extension I just mentioned which means he stays regardless of what happens with the coaches.

With the investment the Cowboys have made in Dak and how integral he will be to the success of implementing an offense, one would think the QB coach would be a crucial hire. But this FO does what it always does…promote from within. I guess the mantra of “we like our guys” applies to coaches as well.
No wonder the franchise has been mired in mediocrity for 27 years. Someone needs to tell Jerry the risk averse approach to building a team and coaching staff is not working.

Man you are a one trick pony. It's not an excuse at all. A guy like ST is going to have next to no impact which. It is however ridiculous that Dallas would hire ANOTHER first time coach to a key role.

I'm amazed that anyone would expect any better given that McCarthy could be out of a job at year's end if they don't improve upon the last two playoff showings. No one of any quality is going to join a lame duck staff, not unless they have a pipeline to getting the head coaching job if there's a change.

Trying to figure out why this is so difficult for most to understand.
