TheProphet said:Good afternoon my friends! The Prophet is pondering the question, "do we have the depth chart at running back in the wrong order?" Hmmmm??? LOL.
The Prophet has a gut instinct that one Marion Barber should be given the rock instead of the injury prone Julius Jones. Oh don't get me wrong friends, at times ole JJones has looked splendid. But sadly his performance is streaky at best and quickly snuffed by yet another injury.
Marion Barber on the other hand, seems consistent and determined in the limited times he has been used.
As always, thoughts on this board by others welcome.
Oh by the way, the FWST Cowboy board will be up in running again in short order due to my tireless efforts.

If you want a guy to dazzle you with an occasional highlight run, but also plague you with a lot of runs for negative or no yarddage .... go with JJ. If you want a guy who is going to move the chains, keep time of possession and win you a close football game go with MB3.

Derinyar said:Jones has higher potential, but has to stay healthy. Barber is a nice 3rd down option, but I just can't see him as being someone you want to be the feature back for a team. He just doesn't have the breakaway.
I suspect if you were to break down Barber's carries you would find a lot of yardage on 3rd and long plays. Parcells does like running on 3rd and long, and it usually doesn't get a 1st, its just to improve field position.

Yeah, but I wanted to give people more time to bash him...superpunk said:Well, that, and the "in short order" part. I could see "in that regard". But how do "efforts" get done "in short order"?
Anyhow....doesn't lane already have a thread about this?![]()

abersonc said:You are missing the point totally and taking my point far too literally. What my post is saying is that Barber is a better back when there is poor blocking. But Julius can look like an elite back when the blocking is good.
Let's simplify these even more -- which of the two back has had a game that made you think he was the best runner in the league that week?
