Which, back on the actual topic, I'd be really surprised if anyone gave the Skins a second for Campbell. Maybe a 4th but I can't see someone giving up a 2nd for a guy whose proven he's not even really good enough, to this point, to be a bus driver.

I'm all for Cutler going to the Skins if it means giving up two first rounders plus more.

QCampbell is awful. He might be able to pull a 4th from a team needing a backup.

What is going to be interesting to watch is whether, after the Skins dump QCampbell (or give up the farm for Cutler) whether all the idiots Skins fans finally admit that QCampbell is garbage. Up to this point, they have blamed everyone else on their team and made up a lifetime of excuses in a desperate attempt to deny his suckitude. They still maintain he is Pro Bowl-caliber. Can you imagine that level of cognitive dissonance?

QCambell....what an insult to Eric Lasalle! This guy is waaaaaay better than that piece of trash Qcar.

ok the Commanders have a 1, 3, 5, 6 best i remember, say if they can get a # 2 for campbell, then that means, they give their 1, 2, 3 at least for cutler maybe a player or players involved. I am like you in that if the Commanders are willing to give their other number 1 pick in 2010 i am all for it.

Which basically means they give all of their draft choices this year, plus their number one next year. Now I like that. So, while the Commanders are giving up all of their draft picks, we will have 11 picks to get some players this year.

Now I am still hearing that the teams most involved in cutler deal are lions, jets, tampa bay and Commanders. So, to outdo tampa bay, the Commanders have to give up some more draft picks.

and in that , maybe like when the cowboys gave up 2 number one picks for joey galloway, maybe this is the deal that does the Commanders in for 5 years or so. Now, I like that,

That would be stupid. His best bet if nothing transpires is to play lights out (or try to) and then leave w/a lucrative deal elsewhere next year.

Agreed, he already knows that he is in a make or break scenario. Now if he does succeed this year, he might be less motivated to re-sign next year, but that's a different situation.

Campbell played OK last year in a bus driver role and I think he can be decent as that sort of QB. He may not be great but there just aren't enough QBs in this league who are any good so he'll have a job for many years to come ... likely as a starter.

That said, you'd have to be on crack to give a 2nd for him.

So if the Skins give up their 1st/3rd Rounder for Cutler, how are they going to replenish their offensive and defensive lines?

Pretty bad comparison. Dallas doesn't have a desperate need to do so; going into last years and this years draft, the Commanders do.

If I were the Vikings i'd give a 2nd round for Campbell.

He can be solid and I don't think the guy has ever played in the same offensive system for consecutive years.

He's not going to set the world on fire but he can manage a game for you and make a play here and there.

But if I were the Vikings i'd also be willing to give up my entire draft for Cutler.

Prior to this upcoming season, Campbell has been in seven different offensive systems in the last eight years. Don't know if he will ever be any good, but that type of turnover can't help his comfort level.

And Washington has a "desperate" need? The picked up two very good players on the lines. They've got about as much flexibility as we do at this point.

They are mostly set for starters and are drafting for guys who can start as backups - pretty much where we are at

Didn't the Skins sign Albert Haynesworth?

I say that qualifies as upgrading their defensive line.

With the exception of Haynesworth and Samuels, they are average at best. They need upgardes in the worst way.

From Walter Football.com
Offseason Needs:
Right Tackle: Washington's offensive line is a mess and it really needs to be upgraded, starting at right tackle. Jon Jansen, who just turned 33, has terrible knees and is an abomination when it comes to pass protection.

Two Guards: The guard position is also a major issue. Pete Kendall and Randy Thomas are both old and unreliable. Jason Campbell will continue to struggle with inconsistency as long as the offensive line is in shambles. Signed Derrick Dockery

Defensive End: Aside from the offensive line, Washington's biggest problem was not being able to get to the quarterback. The team totaled just 24 sacks, and no player had more than four. The Commanders need a pass-rushing specialist on the outside to complement Andre Carter.

From CBS Sports.com

Offensive line: This group is older and not much better than a year ago. Hopes are high for Dockery at left guard, but talk to anyone from Buffalo: He was horrible there. Chris Samuels is rock solid, but Jon Jansen has just about run out of gas at right tackle. Look for him to compete with Stephon Heyer for the job. Heyer was the starter out of training camp but yielded to Jansen when sidelined by a shoulder injury.

Defensive line: Washington surprised everyone by releasing Jason Taylor when he wouldn't agree to a workout clause in his contract. Now the rush is on to find a replacement. Demetric Evans is gone, which might leave the position to Phillip Daniels ... except he not only is coming off a serious knee injury, he's an unrestricted free agent.

Haynesworth will obviously help loads, especially against the run, but who is rushing the QB to increase on their pathetic sack totals from last year? Andre Carter is very similar to our own Greg Ellis in that he is a JAG unless he has a top level player on the opposite side of him for O-lines to focus on.

I would think adding a Haynesworth helps your pass rush. But we shall see this season. For the Cowboys' and Romo's sake, I hope you're right. :)

If the Stinks trade Campbell to the Broncos, and get Cutler for two #1's, Cutler may be the the only player in history who a team gave up FOUR #1 picks for.

Campbell cost them two #1's, and Cutler may cost them two 1's.
