Sources: Dallas may release Owens (ESPN) *Merge*

I still laugh when I see people continuing to question the existence of "sources" for these stories as if they don't exist or ESPN is just trying to stir up trouble.

I laugh when people quote anonymous sources, as if quoting them proves anything. Why not name them? Oh yeah, because then they wouldn't be able to snitch on others.

So its a total fabricated lie. Is that your position on it?

When do the Cowboys attorneys start the lawsuit?

I don't have to make a judgment on whether it's a lie or not.

Why should I believe it otherwise if the person who said it can't stand behind his words?

Just because the "system" allows it doesn't mean I have to accept it when it's contrary to the principles of actual evidence. By that time, the said person's character is already defamed in the court of public opinion.

well maybe it's Stephen Jones or 1 of the coaches. if they don't release him than Owens will start crap with them.

You have proven to be what i knew you were from the beginning.
And now you have bored me.
Keep routing for dallas to keep Owens so they are better in Madden next year.
I wont spend another second trying to chase the meaningless point of a dullard.

Still couldnt figure it out?

"routing" for them to bring him back? I was perfectly clear I dont care if they cut him or not.

How is it a meaningless point when you can not even figure out what it is? LOL

I bet someone else on this thread can tell you the last time a Dalla Cowboys player was arrested for alcohol and cut right after

See above.

There's no need to make stuff up now, the idea that Werder or anyone else has to invent stories now to meet their deadline is ridiculous

Care to point out where I said either one was "making up sources"? I'll wait.

I find it amusing to watch people fail. As you've just done.

Players in general don't tend to say much negative about their teammates publicly, unless the bitterness is just so great that they can't contain themselves.

Can you give me a few incidents where a player has criticized a teammate publicly, saying that player was an negative influence on others?

I'm asking sincerely because I can't recall such an incident.

It has happened very few times. The point was he said the team feels this way. Yet nobody has said anything close to that so I said something about it. Its up to him to show where it occurred

You don't have to believe it at all. I think it is shaky at best.

But I do believe someone told him that, and that someone doesn't want to get fired. And if they did there is a reason that doesn't involve Werder being "lazy" or him just inventing a story in a "slow news week"

Psychologists call it "displacement." In 1930s Germany, it was called "externalizing the enemy." Why admit that something's wrong in [strike]Denmark[/strike] Dallas when you can fob it off on media "lies"?

Are you kidding me?! What will it take for some people to come to grips with the fact that Romo and Garrett have a huge problem with TO continuing to be on this football team?

I believe the TO situation is past the point of no return and Jerry is going to side with Garrett and Romo and he will jettison TO.
You don't have to believe that they're all lies. There was nothing said of any substance whatsoever. Did anyone in the article say with any certainty that Garrett would not come back with TO on the roster? No. It's all "sources believe this might be the case" and BS like that. There are no concrete statements to prove or disprove. Of course it might be the case that Garrett won't come back if TO comes back. It also might be the case that Garrett has a gay crush on TO.

Did anyone in the article say that serious conversations have taken place of cutting TO? No. Did anyone in the article say that such meetings will take place? No. It's all guesswork. There's no news. It's just speculation like we've had for years.

I'll come to grips when there's a direct quote (even an anonymous direct quote) from someone saying, "Jason Garrett has a problem with TO." As long as it's just rumor from anonymous sources saying this or that might be the case or this or that might happen, it's just speculation.

You said "Using TO for a paycheck on a slow news week."

So if you are not implying that the story is made up, you are saying that the story is true, or at least reported, but that Werder shouldn't have printed it. (because certainly there is nothing else to talk about with the Superbowl a few weeks away)

Obviously the the Cowboys even potentially cutting a $9M receiver that everyone on the country knows is not newsworthy, right?

So what exactly were you implying? Was Werder making stuff up, or was he reporting on something you didn't think was newsworthy?

Because if its the latter you are actually a bigger moron than I thought.

Because teammates aren't going to go public with stuff like that.

Again, as a reporter, I have people tell me stuff negative about others all the time, but they do so knowing I'm not going to quote them.

People generally don't say bad things about their bosses or co-workers publicly much less in print and on television.

That's no reason to believe it's not true. It's just a principle of human nature.

Now, you can be skeptical. That is your right. But I think it's a bit naive to expect someone to go on the record and say, "T.O. is a cancer, and he needs to be outta here."

Cowardly? Yes.

No one is going to pay any attention to this post theogt. They'll just read:

I'm not blaming TO for this, but Galloway said today to watch out for a developing story that Barber was and is mad as hell about Jerry calling him out about the toe injury. Said it's nothing huge, but just keep an eye out for it over the next few weeks. That was all he'd say.

Yeah, well I am little down on MBIII for not taking the pain killer injection so he could 'play' with some effectiveness for the rest of the season.

Except Lombardi essentially reported the same thing. Someone at VR is yapping.

And I can't wait for some fans to say that's not always the case, lol.

I'm a moron? Oh nOes!11!!

I'll refrain from the insults, and just leave it at the fact that I've said in my previous posts (if your comprehension level was up to par) that it's a story that any of us could have come to the logical conclusion would happen at some point in the near future. They've nobly jumped the gun here by issuing such headlines as "TO could be cut", "well their going to discuss cutting players, and TO might be one of them at some point, but not yet", and "there are some people that think the Cowboys should release TO". A five year old could've told you that two weeks ago....then again, I'm not surprised you find this to be invaluable news.

So yeah, I think the stories are garbage. There is nothing there, and until they find a "source" with the balls to link his name to the story, it's crap.

Look, if you've got cliques in the locker room that can't get along, and you've got one guy, in particular, who seems to be the root of the problem, you get rid of him.

There are still morons on here who see nothing wrong with this team. They would never admit ANYTHING is wrong with the Cowboys, even if they wore Commander uniforms...as long as the helmet still had a Star, they'd be A OK with it and we'd win the Super Bowl "next" year... LOL!! :laugh2:
