Yep i had a chance to grab my ipod and scroll through that 4th and I remembered thing backwards.

Witten fumbled earlier, after a goal line stand by the defense glenn fumbled at the 1. Seattle scored and we went down the field and witten was stopped at the 1, then the botched field goal.

the big swing was the 3rd and 1 from the 10 with about 9 minutes to and not getting the first, then kicking a field goal instead of scoring a td. 20-13 is alot different than 24-13.

For some reason I confused that field goal drive in the 4th as later..Not sure why.

If you are anything like me...probably because it was several years ago! :D

They're decent receivers, but a great quarterback would elevate their games even more (See: Manning, Peyton). Just like a great receiver can elevate the play of a mediocre quarterback by taking pressure off all of the other receivers.

Because clearly Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark would have simply sucked with Payton Manning.

Good thing Owens is so busy elevating Edwards to Canton...

Since 2006 there are 15 games played by TO without Tony Romo as the QB. Drew Bledsoe, Brad Johnson, Brooks Bollinger, Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick played with TO in that time and their stats are not inflated. At least I hope they are not inflated because if not their stats would really suck.

15 games
242 competions
442 attempts
54.8%
2763 yards
6.3 YPA
16 TDs
21 INTs
66.03 QB rating

My friend said it best.He said,"He is a good QB and athlete, but is soft mentally when the heat comes". Nobody can deny this. I am a Cowboy homer for 32 years and I can see this.

Check out Romo's stats in the 4th quarter and in the last two minutes of halves before you say nobody can deny it.

2 playoff losses have warped more minds than I ever could have imagined. People are downright foolish with this crap.

Ill give you credit for being relentless, albeit a homer but still relentless.

Good job!

Brad Johnson was 40, Trent Edwards cant take a risk to save his life, Bledsoe got replaced for a reason and you are seriously counting Bollinger!!!???

Nice try.;)

Slam dunk!

The QB has made the WR, not the other way around.

Who is that? And why do people believe Edwards is an NFL QB?

The Bills suck and its not all Dick Jauron's fault. Well the 'no huddle' without Jim Kelly is but still....

Great post! I find it amazing how many so-called fans discredit Tony Romo. It's like when the Cowboys lose they have a Waaaaa attack and have to blame someone. So they pick Tony. Forget the other 52 players on the team, the injuries to his supporting cast or what the defense did; let's just blame Tony.

The numbers don't lie. This team has a lot of growing to do, and some major holes to fill. But it hasn't been Tony's fault. Blah, he bobbled a slick ball that should have won us the game against Seattle. **** happens.

Guys like Brett Favre, (who I happen to like) get praised week in and week out for winning the game. What they don't show is the interception he threw that probably should have lost him the game, but the defense stepped up, made a play and got him the ball back; giving him a chance to redeem himself. He comes out a hero instead of the slug. The other 52 did something to give him another chance.

We haven't seen that (yet) with Tony. Odds are we will and hopefully soon.

I'm just happy to see a post that supports what Romo's done for this team at this point in his young career. All the boo birds should take a good look and realize what a benefit he is to this team; and take a wider look at the spectrum before having a hissy fit when the team loses. Yeah he has a bad game sometimes, but 99% of the players in the NFL do.. But as the QB of the Dallas Cowboys, naturally his poor performances will be elevated to level that wouldn't even make page 8 in the sports section of other franchises.

Hopefully, intelligent Cowboys fans who've dissed him in the past and who read the numbers that support Tony's career to this point will have a change of heart. He certainly doesn't deserve being boo'd at local events.

I am hardly a homer. I don't think Romo is one of the greatest. It is a nice accomplishment that his QB rating is so high and that he has a very good winning percentage. That doesn't mean everything. There is room for improvement and for Dallas to win playoff games there must be improvement. I just don't think you give up on the guy. Why would you do that? In fact I think it would be idiotic to give up on him.

Unless you are going to replace him with one of the few truly great QBs out there right now you are clearly going to suffer at the QB position if Romo is not in Dallas. This is a league that is short of good QBs. Romo is one of the good ones. I won't anoint him as a great one and I also won't banish him as a bad one.

Last year Edwards completed 65% of his passes and had an 85 Rating.

This year he has a 56% completion rate and a 70 rating.

Even if you contend he sucks, why didn't he at least get better with TO?

I heard a few talking heads and analysts say that Trent Edwards was going to have a better year than Romo this season. Not only that, but that he was the better QB.

Brett gets away with it because he has clout. He has won in big games, been in superbowls ,played well in crunch time and has a legendary arm. That's why he gets away with it. Reputation.

His career might be 'young' but he next season he will be 30. A little old to be be coming into ones prime. And he doesnt have the Elway arm, leadership and smarts to play into his mid 30's. At least not on any level he is now. If he loses that mobility, he will become Marc Bulger. If Flozell doesnt trip someone, and some point in time, he is one concussion away from being Steve Young.

He is the best QB this team has had in a longtime but that DOESNT mean you as a fan have to be content with that or satisifed by it. I will cheer for him on Sundays and would never boo him at the game or in public. Thats just wrong. But that doesnt mean that I cant critique his many flaws Monday thru Saturday. I hope he does well and gets the monkey off his back, I just dont believe in him as a NFL QB. He makes too many mistakes and is too careless. He has been better recently, but do that consistently for the season. Beat the Giants and the Saints with THIS team.

I just hope Jerry has a contingency plan and is NOT afraid to hurt his fragile QB's feelings with taking a QB in the first 3 rounds in the next two years. I dont want to sit through 5-11 seasons again.

You forgot every game down the stretch over the last 3 seasons as well. It's a lot more than just _TWO_ playoff losses.

No it isn't. I can prove to you that we have faded down the stretch dating back to 1997. Why is that ignored? Why focus on 1 QB?

It's entirely about those 2 losses, or people just don't know enough. I'm trying to give benefit of the doubt.

Like it or nor the $$$ says Romo will be starting QB for several more years, barring a complete meltdown.

That said, I do agree with you I want the next QB being groomed right now, and I think the McGee pick was a step in that direction.

I don't think you will ever see Jerry pick a QB in the 1st again. His history in the pre-Bill era shows that like WR he is too gunshy of the bust rate and money you fork over for the risk.
