Great post! I find it amazing how many so-called fans discredit Tony Romo. It's like when the Cowboys lose they have a Waaaaa attack and have to blame someone. So they pick Tony. Forget the other 52 players on the team, the injuries to his supporting cast or what the defense did; let's just blame Tony.
The numbers don't lie. This team has a lot of growing to do, and some major holes to fill. But it hasn't been Tony's fault. Blah, he bobbled a slick ball that should have won us the game against Seattle. **** happens.
Guys like Brett Favre, (who I happen to like) get praised week in and week out for winning the game. What they don't show is the interception he threw that probably should have lost him the game, but the defense stepped up, made a play and got him the ball back; giving him a chance to redeem himself. He comes out a hero instead of the slug. The other 52 did something to give him another chance.
We haven't seen that (yet) with Tony. Odds are we will and hopefully soon.
I'm just happy to see a post that supports what Romo's done for this team at this point in his young career. All the boo birds should take a good look and realize what a benefit he is to this team; and take a wider look at the spectrum before having a hissy fit when the team loses. Yeah he has a bad game sometimes, but 99% of the players in the NFL do.. But as the QB of the Dallas Cowboys, naturally his poor performances will be elevated to level that wouldn't even make page 8 in the sports section of other franchises.
Hopefully, intelligent Cowboys fans who've dissed him in the past and who read the numbers that support Tony's career to this point will have a change of heart. He certainly doesn't deserve being boo'd at local events.
