Living in NC I get to see a lot of Panther games. I dont post much so try not to attack me too hard for this.

#1 Steve Smith and Julius Peppers are the Carolina Panthers. No way the Panthers trade this guy.

#2 If they did trade him away it would be worth almost any cost to get him. Take away the QB problems in Carolina the past several years and this guy is as good as TO or Randy Moss, maybe even better. Smith would be perfect here. I just dont think he likes the Cowboys much.

Steve Smith is one of the toughest most competive players at any position I have ever seen. Two season ago everytime he was single covered he scored. Look at last years game. Newman went out injured, somehow Smith was being covered by Reeves and the very first play after was a Carolina TD to Smith.

Three years ago Smith was almost uncoverable until Carolina played The Cowboys in Charlotte. Bill Parcells had him triple covered the entire game knowing that Carolina did not have anyone else to fear. This is the game Smith drew the personal foul after a short pick up. This schme worked so well that Seattle copied it perfectly in the NFC Championship Game and won

Fixed it for you to reflect the 2007 season.

I think this, first concerning the eagles, I dont think smith would get along with Mcfabb either, since Mcfabb wants all the glory; second, eagles are well known for not playing their players

then, you have to consider what and how much a price it would cost for the cowboys to get steve smith;

now i thiink next is the age of steve smith and what is in his contract about being traded.

i am sure that smith is aware the cowboys are loaded up and prized to go to the superbowl, thats what steve smith wants to do again,

he was in the super bowl a few years ago, and wants to go back and win one

next, we all know eagles have a extra number 1 pick, and the dolphins have a extra number 2 pick, whereas the cowboys have extra 3 and 4.

you might be able to trade out of the depth of the cowboys a few players, then teams are going to say, steve smith will be suspended the first 2 games, maybe more coming from commissioner goodell

with saying that the going price for pro bowl players has been 2 and 5 or 6.

with jason taylor traded for a 2 & 6
with shockey traded for a 2 & 5, possible one

so the range is right there with a 2 or 3 and another player or lower pick;

so the cowboys could get this done, if jerry jones wants too, then the only other weakness on this team is a good young backup at QB; with possibly chris simms filling that spot

so, maybe everything might be falling for the cowboys, as you know, Commanders tried to get a wr, for 2 number 1's and turned down; roy williams has been mentioned in trades, but zanny matt millen is in charge, boldin possibly, but now he has a hamstring problem,

so sometimes, you have to wait and let things come to you if possible, and the Lord knows what the Cowboys need and dont need. So, Lord willing if it is meant to happen it will, just dont get overexcited, and get set up for a big letdown

just let it happen if it does, i think with the leadership on the cowboys now, Romo, Witten, Newman, Tank Johnson, Zach Thomas, Bradie James, Leonard Davis, Hamlin, there is more than enough leaders here to keep Steve Smith in check if it happens,

finally, other thing i like about this, steve smith has been to a championship game, knows wha it takes, and to a superbowl even though he lost, but he knows what tempo needed in those games, thats how you win and get over the hump, with players that have been there and can give direction,

Interesting. His size does not bother you at all? The other guys are your typical WR superstars.

It's not obvious to you that Smith is better than all of those recievers mentioned? I don't care how tall they are

+1, being stronger and faster than just about any cornerback also counts for something.

Obviously highly unlikely this happens. But if the Panthers do ultimately surrender to the notion of trading him, then all bets are off. You know Jerry will do anything to get another receiver in here.

And really, if he's as divisive in the locker room as Mosley suggests, I wouldn't rule out the possibility they get rid of him. But I will side with the crowd that says don't get your hopes up -- just so I don't do just that.

And to think we were content with Williams or Boldin. We weren't thinking big enough!

We'd have the most drops in the league with them as our #1 and #2...but then we'd probably also have the most yards, most big plays and most TDs.

Don't know what you were watching, but Smith was never triple covered. In fact it was a rarity that he was double covered.

One thing I'll agree with, Carolina isn't going to move Smith.

Steve Smith and T.O. are equals in my opinion. They are two different types of recievers both number ones though and having them both would be worth losing Crayton,Spears and a 1st most definitely.

Hmm, Steve smith and Pacman going at it in practice, we'd better have the cops on hand in case a fight breaks out.

I can think of several players I'd put in the package today, including next years 1 and 2 to get him.

Steve Smith would be dynamite stretching the field opposite T.O., especially with Witten & Felix working underneath.

But the Panther I covet is Julius Peppers. With his 4 sack season and the Panthers lack of a weakside pass rusher (Rucker retired) the time to get him is now.

Send the Panthers Greg Ellis (double digit pass rusher), Marcus Spears (real replacement for Kris Jenkins), Patrick Crayton (salary acceleration be damned) & Kyle Kosier/Pat McQuistan (Panthers in dire need of OL help), 2009 2nd rounder plus a 2010 2nd rounder (conditional) for:

Julius Peppers, Steve Smith & Toniu Fonoti (another Hudson Houck player)

Sounds like a lot, but Fox is in the hot seat, not only in danger of losing his job but he's losing control of his team to boot.

Julius Peppers opposite DeMarcus Ware AND Steve Smith opposite Terrell Owens. Hey if you are going to dream big, dream BIG!@!#$!!

That trade even gets rejected in Madden.
