Steve Young ranks the NFC QBs

The thread is about who are the best NFC QBs. I wouldn't trade Romo for anyone else either. That doesn't mean he's currently the best QB in the NFC or NFL.

lol, been watching ESPN? Brees is as overrated as Idk, he is the most overrated player. Romo > Rodgers > Favre > Warner > McNabb (6 is brees)

Why is everyone overlooking Rodgers?
Love Rodgers but i think they were discussing the remaining QBs in the NFC playoffs.

Also, I am dumbfounded that you rate McNabb over Brees.
wow....just....wow
We are talking about 2009. You may wish to alter that post so the crew here does not downgrade your football IQ significantly.

Steve Young was on ESPN and was asked to rank the QBs playing in the NFC playoffs right now.

1. Drew Brees
2. Brett Favre
3. Kurt Warner
4. Tony Romo

I think this list is fluid week to week and very debatable. The only thing that I know is that I hope that #4 becomes #1 in 3 and a half weeks. I think that it can happen if everything goes the way I hope.

i honestly don't care what that overrated steve young says. HOF with one super bowl????

yeah ok

And??

We'd be very fortunate if Romo has the same type of career as Young did.

his one Superbowl came because he got lucky the Cowboys stayed out partying all night and were too tired to play in that 1994 NFC championship game. other than that year it was us or the Packers who kept knocking him out of the playoffs.

If these rankings are based on the last few games, you've gotta put Warner at 1, Romo at 2. Favre has declined toward the end of the year, so has Brees. Romo has only 2 INT's in his last 7 games. And one of those was a tipped ball Roy Williams should have caught.

That's why he ranks Romo 4th. He's still bitter that he never truly beat the Cowboys!

McNabb makes his team better, I firmly believe that Brees's team makes Brees better.

If I was building a team I would rather McNabb than Brees, I just believe he is a better QB.

I don't mind Romo being fourth on this list. I won't even delve into that part of the argument. But I do think it's absurd to rank Brees ahead of the rest of the field at this point. If Romo has still has monkeys lingering, Brees has those same monkeys (both have one career playoff victory).

I think it's the other way around.

Tony Romo's record in the post season is 1-2. So is Drew Brees. Brees has been starting in the NFL since 2002. That is a 4 year head start on Tony.

Tony has led 3 of his 4 teams to the playoffs. Tony's team has never finished last in their Division while he is the primary QB.

Brees has led 3 of his 8 teams to the playoffs. Brees' teams have finished last in their Division twice (2003 and 2008).

Tony's won - loss record is 38-17.

Brees won - loss record is 68-54.

Some will say it is because Brees puts up better stats. Romo threw more TDs in 2007 than Brees has in any season. Romo's INT % in 2009 is lower than in any season Brees played.

Not saying Brees is not a great QB. He is. The double standard applied is rather silly.

Good post!!

I could not disagree with you more....but that's why they have these boards, to exchange opinions.

I don't know about the partying part, but just about everything that could have gone wrong did for the Cowboys in the first quarter of that game and they still almost came back to win it. Aikman lists that as his favorite game as a Cowboy because of the way they fought back after that horrible start.

Could somebody please tell me what Drew Brees playoff record is? Does this guy even have playoff Experience or what? How many superbowl rings is this guy wearing?
Is it just me or does anyone else think this guy is very limited in playoff experience?
Yeah, sure Romo lost a few playoff games,But how many playoff games did Brees participate in?

Your title makes no sense. I didnt see it, but know that no one is going to rate him the worst QB in the NFC.

Are they saying worst remaining in NFC Playoffs? Because that would be hard to argue against Brees, Favre (ring), Warner (ring, and 3 SB appearances)

Consider the source....this means nothing....

That is fine by me. I do not agree with it, but Romo will continue to prove them wrong. Embrace the hate

You are correct, it was NFC playoff quarterbacks.

Well, 2 of the 3 remaining QBs other than Romo are first ballot HOFers.
