Straw Poll: Right now...Do you want Romo?

It's Romo time. I've been pulling for Bledsoe...but after today, I've seen enough. I don't want to suffer through the rest of the season screaming at my TV "get rid of the bleeping ball". The sack on the last drive was pathetic...and then he threw that rookie interception on 2nd down. I would rather suffer through rookie "growing pains" with Romo. I'll feel bad for Bledsoe, but i don't think he is going to suddenly get better. In fact, he usually plays worse the second half of the season. He is what he is and it's time to move on.

I have not read through this entire thread so this may have been posted.

I have felt all along that Bledsoe gives us the best chance to make the playoffs.

But what if we do make the playoffs, any playoff caliber defense will do the same thing to us and Bledsoe as we saw today.

The Bears, Carolina, Philly, Seattle.

They all know right where he will be standing 3 seconds after the snap on passing downs.

I was surprised they didn't blitz more.

Romo's maneuverability at least would take away their total dominance of our OL on passing plays.

Although Romo has not played, he is way ahead of a rookie.

We may think about making the switch and Bledsoe can be the vet backup.

I pick Bledslow :D.

But yeah you guys need to put Romo in, and we need to get Campbell in.

NOW

If we start Romo what are we going to do with that high draft pick, let me guess pick another QB. Too many here are too emontionally attached to single plays, if romo had started today we would have been out of it in the 1st half.

So you are saying that Romo would have thrown more than 3 picks and fumbled the ball more than 3 times?

Well, I don't have a fancy clairvoyant turban or tea leaves or a crystal ball, so I can't say this because I don't believe in certainty.

I bow to your omniscience.
History repeats itself, ya know. That's Bledsoe's history and I don't see what would change that. Could you please tell me what will change that?

Umm, we were 9-7 last year with Bledsoe at the helm and less talent.

That is not realistic....that is emotion getting the best of someone after a tough loss.

And you realize that means absolutely nothing, right?

We were 2-2 at the beginning of last season too, with "less talent".

This isn't last season. We might be 9-7 again, and if Drew continues like this we might even be worse.

And right now, Bledsoe looks ten times worse than he did at the beginning of last year.

How does a guy who has already lost two games for this team, give them the "best chance to win"?

Thanks for implying that I'm an idiot. Keep the personal attacks coming.
I didn't imply it at all. I was laughing with a poster who was lightening the mood and if you accuse me of personally attacking you again you better do it by reporting me to the other Mods because I'm getting sick of the whining. On my end it's a pleasant debate. If it isn't for you then bow out or shut up.

I'll start with forcing the coaching staff to play him ratheer than a knee jerk reaction that he start.

I like Romo better than I do Bledsoe. I've already said that. It isn't about what I like though.

If he earns the job these men will know it. I'll be behind it 100%. I haven't seen him outperform Drew Bledsoe. I wish he would. I'd love it. I would freaking love it. I've wanted him to get his shot for 2 seasons now and either him or Henson the year ebfore that. If you doubt this please look up my disgust at parcells for not playing him unless it's a blowout and then only allowing him to hand off.

I hate that with a purple passion.

I'll accept that. Thanks.

not only because of drew's second "bone-headed" game (of 4 played) but going against a FEEBLE opponent, it's the perfect time to start Romo with Drew available if things fall apart.

Just calling it like I see it. Some people resort to personal attacks when they can't argue their points. Your position has been thoroughly dismantled here.

Okay Miss Cleo, how the hell do you know this?

Its called trends besides Big Ben name the last unexperienced QB to lead his team to the POs. Young QB's struggle mightily that is the rule not the exception. I will take the 60% Db will get us to the plyoffs then romo's 10% chance.

A La Henson in the Bears game. Where do you pull the plug when we are what down by 7, 14, or 21 by half time.

I hear ya Hos. I think lesser teams get blown out in a game like today. I also think that outside of our QB we have a chance to get to the playoffs and possibly win a few games.

My problem is with the QB and with Drew at the helm every Def coordinator inthe league knows how to handle our offense - stack the box and Blitz control therun and put pressure on DB because he is too slow and is shell shocked. Thus even if we get to the playoffs, I expect a very early exit since the talent of the opponent will be more like today's eagles than last weeks Titans.
See, this I agree with. The thing you have to understand though is that very few teams can do what the eagles did today even though they know how. Hell, the Eagles couldn't repeat this every single time. That's reality of the game of football. if this weren't true there would be an undefeated team every single year. Sometimes the other team just steps up and plays well. Today the Eagles played great. We didn't. It wasn't just Bledsoe out there struggling.

Or will any of you be honest enough to admit that?

There is absolutely no reason to start Bledsoe anymore... Texans is coming up, would be perfect game for Romo to start out with.

No it hasn't. You haven't even made a dent much less a dismantling.

Your logic, or lack thereof, has been exposed. You haven't made a single point in this thread for keeping Bledsoe. You simply keep saying "he gives us the best chance to win." You have an irrational distrust for Romo and you've had it for a long time. It's been evident. There's no reason talking to you about this subject with you.

Pass protection. It's an interesting concept but it has been proven to work.

Bledsoe made mistakes when he had time. Don't you get it? Did you not watch this game?

Tom Brady?

That is a stat that is extremely skewed because most young QB's start out on really bad teams, so obviously those teams are going to have no playoff hopes.

Bledsoe brings nothing to this team that Romo can't bring - don't give Bob Dole the "game experience" rhetoric, because it's a tired argument that really holds no weight.

For all the game experience Bledsoe has, he looked like a rookie today, and he looked like a rookie in week 1, and frankly he didn't do all that hot in the team's other two games.

He does not give this team their best chance to win.
