Grimes and VG3 are only okay and their S are spares. I was unimpressed with their LB in zone coverage. Linehan's multiple route depths had them guessing.

Giants are our perfect foil because they also have those monster DT that take away Zeke's cutbacks and thus big plays too.

1 thing about the playoffs is that thus far only the Giants have actually managed to make this work. Dak had a nice 'test drive' of the counter measures on Sunday night vs a defense that, from what I understand, was leading the NFL in pass defense over the previous 5 games.

Even if we do end up facing the Giants again in the playoffs, the fact that it's very likely we'll be playing them at home and Linehan has been working on these countermeasures makes me feel better about our chances in a 3rd meeting.

Amazing how you guys argue back and forth, with all these pretty lists and stats, when the whole time, only two numbers are relevant. 12-2. Knock yourself out.

Tampa couldn't do it and they have one of the best defenses in the league. Dak picked them apart all night.

Tampa is small and fast on defense. Built for spread offenses. Terrible matchup against Dallas' massive offensive line.

The bottom line is, if Dak starts slinging the ball down field, then they'll talk about he's not scoring enough. If he starts posting 38 point games, then he doesn't scramble fast enough, if he starts getting out of trouble, then he takes unnecessary sacks. It will NEVER be enough for the Romo crowd.

One TD drive against Minnesota. One against New York. One against Tampa.

But, hey, Dan Bailey is happy.

What is relevant is playoff performance. The NFC will likely include the Giants and Seattle who have the horses to run the gameplan in question.

Excellent post. Tampa has an excellent defense. Russell Wilson scored 5 points against them and looked horrible whereas Dak looked like a Pro Bowler. And Dak admitted he got away from his usual game of taking what the defense gives him when he played against the Giants. A 3rd game against them would be interesting. It's hard to beat a team 3 times in the same year.
