There simply isn't enough evidence that doing this leads to QBs being successful in the NFL. It's also tough to do with rookie contracts, letting your first round rookie sit for 2-3 years is just not going to happen often in today's league.

But it's 100% certain that we will NOT find our future QB is we don't try.

It is easier to with rookie contracts now than it used to be. The 49ers paid a lot of money for Alex Smith in 2005. Same with the Rams with Sam Bradford. It is much cheaper for teams to gamble on a QB, but a gamble is a gamble no matter.

Who said we won't try? Us not drafting a QB high this year doesn't mean we will never will.

There will be first round QB prospects when Romo hangs it up.

Why are you posting me amateur scouting sites? There is a reason he slipped in the first, this doesn't happen for no reason.

Watch the game film on him in college, again, he wasn't a great college QB.

Why are you making statements that are backed by nothing?

That is total BS and Kiper isnt exactly amateur. At least all of these are more relevant than any source you've conjured up to support such a claim.

And here's a partial list of quarterbacks that started for those teams in 2005: Jake Delhomme (Carolina), Drew Bledsoe (Cowboys), Trent Green (Chiefs), David Carr (Texans), Mark Brunell (Commanders), Kerry Collins (Raiders), Gus Frerotte (Dolphins), Kyle Orton (Bears), Aaron Brooks (Saints), Byron Leftwich (Jaguars), Trent Dilfer (Browns).

Tedford (ball height, etc) was the only issue n college. post some tape you've reviewed.

Seattle isn't anything close to a Super Bowl team . They looked terrible just got lucky . Can't wait until Carolina snacks them next week.

I'd rather gamble on a QB than gamble on a CB.

Backed by nothing? I am telling you, despite your ridiculous 2005 crap site reports, he slipped. Fact. He wasn't very good in his limited action his first year in the league, fact. Took him over 3 years to beat out an aging QB, fact.

So you had multiple team scouts, some with QB needs, saying this guy wasn't worth an early first round pick and you're coming at me with Kiper? Rodgers slipped for good reason, he wasn't a very impressive college QB, he needed time to develop in the NFL and completely changed up his mechanics.

Anything else?

Risky play on 4th and 1. I would have kicked the FG.

That's pretty much my thoughts as well. Everyone wants immediate impact in the draft. No one is willing to put the time in to make sure our future is secure.

Without a QB, it doesn't matter how well we do in the draft. We can have Pro Bowlers at every position, and still not make the playoffs without a solid QB.

And the time is actually right while Romo can still play. I mean, who taught Romo how to be a Professional QB for the Cowboys? I'm not sure Wade Wilson is doing Romo any good these days, and Romo could teach a young guy what it means to play for the Cowboys. Playing for the Dallas Cowboys is a big deal!

I don't think JF would work in Dallas because he is a knuckle head, but, he is young. And that is what the Cowboys need, youth at the QB position. Get a young QB with the first pick (yeah so what, take a chance...it's just money) and turn him on to Romo so Romo can teach. The first time Romo gets injured...you are in there kid! lol

Who knows...

He was inactive because Dunbar, once Dunbar got injured..a spot opened up for Michael.

McFadden isn't an elite back, neither is Michael...neither is Murray. The running game would've been better as the season progressed with McFadden though. As far as your red zone argument, do you think we would've been a tad more successful running the ball if teams didn't stack the box because they could care less about our passing game?

Your whole argument was that Michael starting for Seattle makes us look stupid, it doesn't because Michael isn't that great nor is he any better than McFadden....I believe most NFL general managers know that since nobody in the league wanted him for weeks after we dumped him.

I hope we replace McFadden as the starter in the backfield but I pray we land a better option than Christine Michael.

CMike was activated for the Saints game the same game Dunbar was injured in. It took until week 4 for the Cowboys to activate him and he only got one carry. The following week vs NE he again only got one carry. What makes the Cowboys look stupid is they gave up a 7th round pick to a team that's dominated the NFC the past 2 seasons for a player who they never gave much of chance to and ended up releasing. Seattle gets him back and he ended up gaining 192 yards in Seattle's final 3 games including 102 yards against a stout AZ defense helping them get to the playoffs.

Seattle will probably land a solid player in the draft with our 7th round pick. They found Russell Wilson in the 3rd round and Richard Sherman in the 5th round. We can only wish the Cowboys had the management and coaching the Seahawks have. They've lost players like Lynch and Jimmy Graham and still made the playoffs.
