We need to trade this guy at this point id be willing to take a high 2nd round pick for him. We can literally sign 3 solid players with his money + a pick.

4-6 month recovery
The avg nfl player missed 8.6 months though some of that time could be just timing around the off season
He likely wouldn’t play to start the season and could be out till november

And him refusing to have surgery means he's now misplaying it.

Possibly but this is what you get in cut throat contract negotiations. The gloves come off and each side is looking for any angle to gain leverage.

I doubt any team would give up any more than a late 2nd or 3rd rounder for him with his contract demands. He wants too much money and has priced himself out of the market. Maybe he is doing it in purpose to get the Cowboys to cut him and let him go wherever he wants. Problem with that is that no other team will offer him more than the franchise number this year.

Maybe the Dolphins will cut Quinn and the Cowboys will sign him for much less than Tank and the Cowboys will let Tank walk.

Absolutely.

And DLaw's two strikes and injury history are huge marks.

No he isn’t. Most of his big games last year came against really bad teams and it also didn’t hurt that we played the Giants twice. 5 of his 10.5 sacks last year came against the Lions and Giants. Of the playoff teams we played against in the regular season he had a total of 0.5 sacks, that half sack coming against Seattle.
Most guys have great games against bad teams. What’s your point?

Once you put off signing a player and they keep performing this is going to happen. Players are going to make up for any money they missed plus what they think they should get going forward. Cowboys didn't take a chance is signing him sooner so now they have to deal with the big contract.

Catch-22.. We need Lawrence's production but I'm still concerned about paying him when considering his limited track record of only 1 outstanding season. Strange spot to be in, but has Lawrence proven himself to be one of the highest paid DEs?

With the Cowboys at an impasse would we consider the following? If possible trade Lawrence for a 1st, trade for Quinn and sign Ansah. The cap hit for both of those players may be similar to what Lawrence is seeking alone.

Maybe they should give him 35 mil a year. And while there at it I'd a new lamberghini.

I'll take a McLaren F1 while we are at it.

This deal doesn’t get done until the market provides some new comps. It’s pretty obvious.

Great guys also have their best games against great opponents as well. That's what makes them great guys. A guy who is Tarzan against the scrubs and plays like Jane against the best in the league isn't a great guy - that's my point.

doubt the cowboys work a trade. He may hold out for a few game. And walk for nothing next year. When the last time the cowboys actually traded a player and got good value for him?
