Texas Rangers 2012 Thread

so we trade away Young and lose out on Greinke?

Looks like this offseason is going to be a dud, we need a frontline ace pitcher, period.

The Dodgers are going to regret this massive spending spree. They are signing a lot of aging players to fat long term contracts.

Even the free spending Yankees of the past weren't that stupid. Kershaw will be a free agent next season and he will without a doubt command quite a bit more than whatever they spend on Greinke. They are effectively setting the bar by what they sign Greinke too and then Kershaw will demand at least $50M more I'm sure. So if they sign him at around $150M, I expect Kershaw to demands $200M.

The Dodgers will have 4 players making over $20M this season (Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford, Matt Kemp, and Zack Greinke) and Josh Beckett making $17M. (17 with the bonuses) That is 5 players totaling over $100M in salary, not to mention somewhere between 3-5 other players making over $10M I believe. Then Kershaw next season probably demanding over $25M next season. They could have 8-9 players commanding $150-$160M of their salary! Ouch!

Idiots.

The Dodgers bailed out the Red Sux last season on those idiot contracts. Neither has learned anything apparently.

I don't think Greinke is all that. The Dodgers are going to be tied down big time now. Props to the front office for not being desperate.

Trading MY for a couple of young relievers was a good move. We still can trade for Shields or Upton and can possibly bring Hamilton back, too. The offseason is far from over for the Rangers.

Yep, I trust our front office to make the right moves.

I just hope we get Josh at a reasonable price.

Who would we trade for Upton?

Cruz to DH?

One of our shortstops?

Josh Hamilton , Napoli ,and young were the core of the best team in Rangers history. They cannot be replaced IMO . There better be some attempt at rebuilding or signing Hamilton b4 its too late. Any mediocre sign FA's will be a sign of decline and return to what the Rangers were for 30 some years. This is very disappointing as a Rangers fan. JD better do something. These should of been franchise players and never wear a different uniform.

Napoli is not worth the deal he got from Boston. He has power and that's about it. He's not even one of the better fielding catchers. Young is on the decline and it wasn't a bad time for both sides to part ways. We'll see what happens with Josh... but this team can make the playoffs without him.

Don't be ridiculous.

Yes its a big deal when you lose starters and dont replace them. Also losing a guy that has been an MVP.

Your right welcome to mediocrity enjoy....
