I'm 100% sure I've watched more than you but gee, since you've watched so much college football, tell us all when was the last time you saw a 2-4 Head Coach body surf his own team.

I eagerly await your non-response.

You don't deserve a response your self-righteous ******, but I will give you one. I never said the exact situation of a 2-4 head coach body surfing his own team has occurred. As usual you enjoy putting words in peoples mouths. I've watched plenty of college football and plenty of rivalry games. The joy and passion of beating ones rival is often celebrated at a high level no matter the records of either team.

Congratulations to Texas for winning the Big XII conference and advancing to the playoffs!! What an exciting year!!

EDIT: I have just been informed the above statement is mistaken. They did not win the conference championship or advance to the playoffs. They were just acting that way after beating Oklahoma and raising their record to 2-4, so I was fooled. My apologies.

was it over the top? yep
Do I care? Nope

Charlie and co. are just making themselves look stupid for acting like they won the BCS. They won one game against a good team finally. They looked like a semblance of a football team. For once.

And yet...you keep posting in a Texas vs. Oklahoma conversation
I am a huge fan of college football and I recognize the importance of today's result.

An individual wrote that the only people complaining were "butthurt Oklahoma fans." The point I was making - which was apparently lost on you - is that I have no personal loyalties orf feelings for or against either Texas or Oklahoma.

Anybody who has followed the situation in Austin closely the last few weeks, can understand the reaction after that game. Anybody complaining about it needs to loosen their stuffed shirt and realize this is college not the NFL. That's a lot of young men out there. Numerous freshmen as well. Given all the crap Strong and the team have taken over the last few weeks. The last 7 days especially. I can't fault them at all for letting their emotions run wild, after beating their most hated rival,a two touchdown favorite. If you can't appreciate their joy. You're just way too uptight!

Rogah, I understand where you are coming from, but I must disagree with your stance.

Texas has been on an emotional roller coaster the last few years, and especially over the last month. They lost two games that were well within reach. Then, they get blown out of the stadium against TCU. Today, they play their ultimate rival, come in as huge dogs, and dominate from start to finish. Yes, the score was close, but the game was not. Texas played the best game I have seen them play in a very long time.

So, with all the emotion, all the criticism of Strong and the coaches, all the alleged turmoil and infighting amongst the players, I completely understand the Gatorade shower and the players crowd surfing Strong.

Is it excessive, yes.....but these kids are full of emotion, spirit, and pride and they showed that today. They seem to absolutely love playing or Strong. I believe the result of the game, the dominance of it, and then the post game activities will go a long way to building a stronger team and also assist with recruiting.

HOOK EM

BTW, the post game celebration by the Horns was totally acceptable to me......now the celebration after the Astros beat the Yankees was way over the top.

Let's see. The Horns biggest rival.

A huge game for them no matter the record.

TONS of national bad publicity regarding the team & coach.

so they go out & win when nobody thought they would.

Yea let's get excited. In a major way. I don't see the problem.

I agree that baseball celebrations are getting way out of hand. It used to be that making the playoffs in baseball was a big deal, and something legitimately worth celebrating. But now what has happened is teams still celebrate just as hard for making the final-8 (quarterfinals) as they would for making the final-2 (World Series).

one more thing........college students will find a reason to celebrate anything......hence the tearing down of goal posts and the field and court storming...So, I don't really give too much negative weight to that. I do, however, hold the professionals to a different standard. They should be excited, but at the same time, premature celebration is silly. You are getting paid to win titles. Until you win the actual title, keep the celebration low key.

I was in Dallas and I haven't partied that hard in a LONG time. It was INCREDIBLE. I kept waiting for the bottom to fall out of the game and it didn't! FINALLY Progress FINALLY a glimmer (more than a glimmer!) of hope, Finally a team that kept fighting! If Strong felt anything like the rest of us and I'm sure it was times 29384309830483 than his fans, no wonder he went bat sh ite at the end of the game! Who CARES! I was sooooo high on that win... I have no voice today still. None. Good thing I can work from home on Mondays b/c I'm in bed. lol!
