Nope, nope, nope, want me one of them two RB's and the only way to get one of them is in the 1st and maybe by trading up.

There are not any RB's that can carry a team for long, they all get injured from the contact. The battering wore Elliott down.

I certainly appreciate what you are saying and if the circumstances of where this team is in relationship to the NFC were different, I would feel the same as you do.

This is what I call going all in except they do it in the draft.

The Greatest Show on Turf wasn't because of the OC, it was those weapons and mainly that dual threat RB. He made Bruce and Holt better. I think one of these two backs could do the same for the Cowboys tandem. I do not see another back in this draft that could do that.
24 RB in top 3 rushing the past 8 years. 11 made the playoffs. 3 made it to the second round. None to the superbowl.

On the other hand look at the teams with top defenses and OLs.

You can get a smallish speed back in middle rounds. Gibbs has the name because he went to Alabama and was surrounded by tons of talent

I completely agree with what you’re saying but we can improve our guard spot and our defense and still draft Gibbs.

It’s weird that we’re ok with passing on an electric player like Gibbs but we’re cool with drafting a TE in the first that has a high bust rate and can be found all over the draft.

I am not sold on the TEs. It's a deep TE and RB draft. But guard and DL is not that deep so grabbing one earlier would be better as there is a big drop off after top 3 guards and DTs.

A guard in the first round has to jump off the tape.

Both guards look like 2nd rounders to me. If we were to draft one hopefully we trade out of our pick.

Now Darnell Wright is a different story. I’d for sure take him with our pick.

Forbes and McDonald would be nice picks for the defense.

I just don’t see anyone making the impact on this team like Gibbs would for the next 4 seasons which is about all we have left with Dak I would imagine.

That is interesting though....the best tight ends in the league are not first rounders....Pitts may finally break the curse of 1st round busts but even then it took a top 7 pick of a glorified receiver playing tight end to break the curse. And maybe Evan Engram as well. But both of those guys have traits that I Can understand why they are having success. I'd honestly rather go with Ferguson and Hendershot then pass up on Gibbs....or hell even a guard.

Just go get Luke Musgrave.

Dude is awesome and fits the prototype and I think has upside as a blocker.

Musgrave is an awesome awesome prospect.

Dak is not Mahomes or Burrow

Philly absolutely is a run first team but they split up the carriers between RBs and their QB picks up a lot of key first downs running

With Dak we are winning absolutely nothing without a top running game
No one said Dak is Mahomes. Philly is a heavy run team and a big chunk of that is Hurts, but they lost the Super Bowl to a pass first team. They couldn’t stop Mahomes in the second half. Like I said you win championships these days with the passing game. Go back and see when the last run first team won a Super Bowl. Although Mahomes didn’t have a lot of passing yards he put up three TDs in the passing game which proves my point that you score points with the passing game. Hurts passed for over 300 yards but only put up one TD in the passing game. With Dak we’re not winning anything unless he cuts down on the INT’s. You’re not going to win in the playoffs scoring only 12 points. At least one of his INTs against San Francisco was in the red zone. We certainly need some running game, but you can’t just bang the run all day and win championships. This isn’t the 90s. QBs salaries are skyrocketing and QBs are drafted at the top of the NFL draft because it’s a passing league.

He's a projected 2nd rounder isn't he? I'd rather take Will Mallory in the 4th or 5th then Musgrave in the 2nd....but it also depends what I do in the first. Think we have to come out of that 2nd with a guard.

Pollard had no trouble running behind our broken Oline.
Okay..we'll just have to disagree about that. I know people that hate Zeke see things differently.

It's my opinion...my "eye test" is you will...The tow rarely ran the same plays but Tony had only very slightly more success running up the middle. I might try to find some data on that, but it doesn't matter all that much NOW does it?

I would also cite many people that said "oh look tony can bounce it to the outside faster that Zeke". Fine...he can. But why should he have had to? When he should be chewing REAL yards up the field through a nice hole?

Like I said...dun matter now. I do hope we can "fix" the o-line...keep consistent healthy guys there. I hope we can design quick effective run scheme. I hope our TE's can be more handy on the blocks when needed.

Whether zeke's fault or not..I hope we stop doing three straight delay handoffs up the plugged middle.

The major mistake is the team thinking that the 3 time rushing champ was still here while his bloated contract dictated playing time. Hilarious that there are fans out there who still rather operate in the same manner. This was finally a golden opportunity to move on from not only the ridiculous contract but that “superstar” mindset from the front office I told you about last year!
Oh the good ol' "told ya so" routine, eh?

When Pollard went out we had to win the game with Zeke’s legs or Dak’s arm…

Neither was up to it.

Which is why adding a playmaker like Gibbs who you can easily get the ball to when Dak starts to freak out would be so valuable.
When you see a hail mary that has zeke as the center and only offensive lineman.....you sort of have to wonder if coaching didn't have something to do with it as well.

its not an I told you so. Just stating a fact that the situation has been the same for a few years and the rushing champ is long gone. But management would still continue to sell the hell out of it anyway!

No you don’t.

That play meant nothing.

We had 4 quarters of football to do something and our QB missed wide open players and gave the ball away.

Zeke proved all last season he was done. Pollard was legit.
