Is this a trick question? I can state many NCAA Division 1 College Head Coaches and many current NFL assistants that are WAY MORE QUALIFIED than JG. Please note that once Jerry sobers up and fires JG, he will not see the sidelines of an NFL Team for a long time as HC. He may possibly get a QB Coach Gig but being a future NFL HC and NFL OC will be impossible unless somebody owes Jerry a big favor.

well said... :yourock:..BHendri5 must be kneed deep in the spiked Garrett Koolaid.....that or 13yrs old.

Blah blah blah blah, you guys can wish all you want, but the best coach for the Cowboys in the NFL is coaching them right now and he is not going anywhere.
The argument is settled. All you can do is not watch the games or do not buy tickets, we will not miss you guys one bit.

You're right he is. Tony Romo is the best coach we have.

What about the clapping? You didn't even address the totally unnecessary clapping.

Hasselbeck's been in their system and worked with their receivers for two years. That's two full mini-camps, two years of OTAs, and two training camps.

Cassell's been in Dallas for two months.

About the same amount of time Brandon Weeden has been in Dallas.

As I said in another post, Weeden wasn't the reason we lost to Atlanta or New England. He played well enough to win both of those games.

Someone's got to take the blame, and it's usually going to be the quarterback or the head coach. If it's not Weeden's fault then... well, I guess that explains why this thread exists, doesn't it?

if the decision to kick that 2nd field goal in the Carolina game doesn't tell you all you need to know.. you might want to re-evaluate what you think are high.. hell, even acceptable standards for an NFL head coach

Arians is one of the best head coaches in this league.

He is genuine. He will call it like it is and does not bother to be a politician. He has cut players in front of the whole team to get their attention and realize he meant business.

Very envious that the Cardinals have him.

I live out here in Phoenix, so I follow that team somewhat. Great coach.

He immediately caught my attention because when he was brought in the Cards wanted him to retain Ray Horton (a very hot prospect at the time) as his defensive coordinator. Despite their relationship (he and Horton coached on the Steelers SB team) he decided to make a very unpopular decision and go with Todd Bowles.

At his opening presser, Arians explained the importance of the move:

"It needed to be a football team that was directed by me. And any time there's carry over, you don't want guys being able to go somewhere else to voice their opinion," Arians continued. "I didn't want to put Ray in the situation, that's not fair to him. If a guy's got a gripe or concern, come to me and that's just the way we're going to do business."

The contrast to the way things are done in Dallas could not be more stark.

Interesting. I guess he does not have a high tolerance for ambiguity.

The other thing I like about him and Steve Keim is that they address needs quickly and are not afraid to attack them with veterans if necessary.

Need a RB? Chris Johnson. Need a situational pass rusher? Dwight Freeney. Need an interior DL? Red Bryant.

The more I look at this lost season, the more I conclude its a coaching issue. Injuries killed us for sure, especially QB. The front office failed in having faith in the RBC approach and Weeden. Players performing sub par also contributed. However, the coaches in my mind killed us. Teams with lesser talent have won. As a coach it is imperative to place players in positions to succeed??? Garrett and crew and failed. After 6 years of avg, its time!!!!

Exactly. He still doesn't get it. He did the same thing against New England down 17 points I believe. Thirty-one other coaches go for it in that situation.

I'd love to go through the threads over the years and compile all of the most popular excuses supporting Garrett, and demonstrate how every single one was false. Some of my favs: he needs to build his culture (check), needs the right staff (got them, then fired them and got some new ones), needs the right kind of players (got them, didn't work, got some other kind of guys), needs a running game (had it, lost it), needs an all star OL (check), needs more experience (clap clap clap), Tony changes too many plays (0-7) and so on...

Now the only thing holding him back from his prophesied dynasty is a backup QB

Great answer.

How did those top 10 offenses perform whenever Romo went down?

3 of our last 4 1st round picks have gone to the offensive line. 4 of our last 5 have gone to the offense. And yet when Romo gets hurt this year that top 10 offense goes to #29.

Offensive minded coach indeed. A real genius as long as Romo is on the field. But let's fire more DCs maybe that will fix it.

That is not a deduction and if that is good enough in your mind to come to a conclusion then you are going to find yourself mistaken quite often. It's like you wilffully ignore the stats in the OP. Our problem over the Garrett era has not been scoring points. Backdoor deductions don't change that and your immediacy bias is showing.

I'd love to go through all the threads over the years and look at all the posts that looked to blame and find fault and look to see what difference it made in any way shape or form.

Some of my faves: comparing him to coaches that emotionally appeal to the negative on the same level like Campo without any logical rationale or basis for the comparison. Blaming Garret for playcalling when Linehan calls them. Complaining about the playcalling as a whole when you cannot even tell the route combinations run or blocking assignment. Channelling and mimicking Mike Tirico and his clock management evaluations. Incessantly complaining about him clapping when ever coach in the league does it to some extent or another and it has no stake in the outcome. Complaining about him having an Ivy League education as if it doesn't make one complaining that look like they are uneducated and insecure about it. And my all time favorite of all: people that call for his job on the sole hope Payton will be available or even better without any plan in place at all.

Your strawman is horse****. In all of that you never once talk about the defense. Specifically I have been talking about the coverage in the middle of the field for 3 years. Still sucks doesn't it. Recall Julio Jones in week 2 and every weeks since?

Garrett is an easy individual scapegoat and people seem so emotionally crippled that they have to vent on something. So be it and you have your right to do whatever you like but just because there is a whole herd of you doesn't make it justified or have any basis beyond butthurt fans.
