I hope you are all laughing at the idea of Jones being the proven quality player Boldin is. I thought it was bad when folks on here were implying Austin was worth a #2, but Felix Jones has a couple of big runs over the course of a month, and his stock is higher than the best slot man in the game??

Well Austin is worth a #2 if anyone wants to sign him. Or did anyway. He's worth what someone will give for him.

And I wasn't going to put a LOL in but I'll personally go to VR and whip Jerry's arse if he traded Jones for Boldin. You're right. Boldin is proven. He's also proven to be difficult. Jones has something elite and not just IMO. No way I trade him st8 up like that. Not now. I'll take my chances on Felix.

Man, what a difference a year makes!!

I remember this time last year - so many on here (including myself) wanted no part of Felix out of college. I remember when we drafted him, the chat room on here exploded in anger.

He didn't have the blazing "timed" speed everyone said (40 wise). Sure he put up big numbers in college - but he also had McFadden to lean upon. The NFL is much faster than the SEC, and he can't just turn the corner in the NFL.

And now - one year later - you wouldn't even trade him for A. Boldin!!

Now don't get me wrong, neither would I, but it's just funny thinking back on it now.

You're right. I was thinking the same thing mostly because I was one of the ones howling. But I was Ro..Ro...Ro......Wrong.

The Panch;2734475 said:
I dont see where either have done enough in the NFL to give a comparison of much value.

If you don't see the difference then you can't. And perhaps a trade st8 up for Boldin could be a great thing. You may be right. But even though Boldin is a very good WR he is not to WR what Felix is to a RB.

Blasphemy. Trading a player who has carried the ball more than 5 times in only 3 games in his entire career for one of the better WRs in the NFL? What an idiot. :)

This thread really makes me laugh I must say.

Do you wonder why most here are laughing?

Ha I just thought it was funny that you used the word "st8." I'm just messing around with you though.

I definitely agree with what you're saying. There's a chance Felix can be a really special player...which is why now would not be the right time to trade him for Boldin.

Plus, we haven't REALLY had the chance to see what Roy can do.

Fast forward one year, and this MAY be something to consider....but I doubt it.

I think Roy is going to prove a lot of people wrong...and I think Felix is going to show that he is an incredibly versatile weapon.

I don't know if there is enough words in the english language that would describe how much I second your sentiment, but they will have to peel my carcass off the street if they were to part with felix for boldin!!!

This is a good thread.

I wouldn't trade Felix for Boldin. But I can see why some would. It probably makes us a better team from the jump.

I just see too much potential in Felix. I can't trade that. The trade is also a serious negative on the cap the next few years.

Now if were talking Choice plus something reasonable, I'm listening.

No one's untouchable, be it Romo or a neophyte RB coming off toe surgery. That said, I don't think Jerry's plan was to replace TO with another diva.

He made big plays over a 4 game span. How does that in any way equate to what Boldin has been doing for half a decade?? Mostly with jokers at QB. Obviously, the contract demands would make me hesitate, but I dont see any comparison between the two whatsoever.

RB is the easiest replaceable position in football. We're in an era of pass happy offenses and smash mouth football teams that rely on tandem backs and unless you're delivering Adrian Peterson to me, I dont see one back in the league worthy of bending over backwards for.

the running game is where its at..... you can talk about pass happy all you want, but smash mouth great football is close to the line.

Few teams come to mind when you say pass happy, St Louis Rams, Bengals, Green Bay (as of 2 years ago).... I say no thanks....

Wow, it's been a while since I read a post that made me want to punch my computer so badly. That would be the absolute worst trade we could ever be a part of. I'm still pissed-off at the thought and it's been 5 minutes since I read the post...

Oh. K. I really do hope that Felix can get deep. We haven't really had a long ball threat at RB since Walker and Dorsett.

Indeed. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe Tashard Choice + Crayton + Sunday round draft pick.

I"d rather see Dallas trade Crayton+Stanback+2nd day pick to Oakland for Johnnie Lee Higgins. now THAT would make sense.
