we opened cap space with redoing Dak and Zeke contracts.....is there a trade in works that might bring a player that we might need the cap space? just wondering
Keep the reputation you already have - uninformed noise.
Now go and continue your other clueless, pointless arguments with the rest of the board. That’s all you’re good for.

that could be it too.....I’m wondering if it’s something to do with an extension for a player like Gregory. In my opinion, other than rolling over cap space, it would be the smartest use of resources. Of course that assumes the Gregory would be willing to sign an extension at this point in time.

And your job on here is what exactly?
To go around and insult people for talking about the salary cap when its not up to your SPOTRAC standards?
Hilarious!!! You actually try REALLY hard to be known as a "Cap expert". So much so that you go around insulting others about it.
But the honest truth is all you do is go look it all up on SPOTRAC?
You attacked me today buddy. Remember that.
I don't think there is a trade looming, but you can't always believe Jerry either.

That sounds like rollover to me. They can see they’re in rough cap position next year.
Zeke going to lead the NFL in rushing this year.
Sure, but instead of signing guys that will actually help the team with this cap space they do things like give Jaylon Smith a massive contract he doesn't deserve.
Really? Who was the frail, sensitive one who responded with the ‘expert’ tag when their false claim? Or were you trying to play that off as a backhanded compliment? You don’t get to play ‘victim’ now, especially when this is about one of FIVE arguments you’re currently involved in?
It’s not ‘everyone else’, it’s YOU.
To hand out an extension "knowing the guy's best years are behind him" is a sad approach to take. If you were buying a new vehicle would you buy the one that used to be a good vehicle but will not perform like it once did or would you be buying the vehicle expecting it to perform well or better than it did?
Think of the scale too: a new/newer car is running between $20k-$40k these days which is a lot for a guy like you or me. By way of comparison NFL players, like Dlaw, went from $1.17M (his year before the franchise tag was applied) to now $25M......that is one hell of an investment for a guy whose "best years are behind him".
It's the right move for the cap, but anytime I can take a swipe at Jerry it's gonna happen.
I have noticed what I think is a consistent trend with guys who underperform their massive contracts. The guys who seem to focus only on being paid (Tank, Dez) seem to underperform their contracts almost every time.Regarding Lawrence, he put up 25 sacks in 2 seasons and was paid a healthy extension for being an 'elite' pass rusher. Since his extension, he has put up 11.5 sacks in 2 seasons while also seeing his QB hits drop from 49 in the 2 seasons before his extension to 26 in the 2 seasons after his extension and his tackles for loss drop from 29 the 2 seasons before the extension to 21 in the 2 seasons after his extension. Also of note is that in 2018 (before his extension) DLaw had 42 QB pressures yet after his extension he registered 29 QB pressures in 2019 and 26 QB pressures in 2020. Lastly, his QB hurries went from 20 in 2018 (before his extension) to 13 in 2019 and 14 in 2020.
The point I am making is that DLaw was paid as an 'elite' pass rusher and after his extension the pass rusher stats saw a decrease pretty much across the board.
They should have let Tank leave and accepted a 3rd round comp pick. That whole situation was a ‘perfect storm’ of awful. From the timing to the market to the swings and misses at the position in bot the draft and free agency.
And now they pay - big time.
There are obviously several possibilities. 1. They plan to bring in someone after week one. 2. They have to free up cap space to make a trade. (Possibilities: Tank, Jaylon, another top 10 salary). 3. It’s an accounting move for flexibility. 4. It’s an accounting move that’s almost mandatory for something occurring next year that they don’t have the room to do next year and they need to roll the cap money forward.we opened cap space with redoing Dak and Zeke contracts.....is there a trade in works that might bring a player that we might need the cap space? just wondering
I didnt even post to you. I said we could save 30 million and you stuck your nose up at me.
Since you are such an "expert" you obviously felt the need to tell me about it. I even admitted my numbers were off. That still wasnt enough for you. Then you continued to insult me.
All I did was laugh at you that you think you are an expert. Im still laughing about it. I actually never picked up on that, but I know it now. Thanks for the ammo.
And no, its me a lot of the time. I enjoy arguing. I'm not here to make friends. I actually enjoy making fun of people like you that think they are "cap experts".
I actually like some of the guys that know their stuff. But when you come off as some kind of snooty expert, I'm going to have a problem with it.
