If it is the end for Escobar it'll be interesting to see if someone marks the occasion with an Escobar appreciation thread.

GB, you seem to love to create these threads...
the shark jumping ones.

I agree Escobar has been underutilized but the dude was seriously injured.
A very weird time to crow about it.

And why are we writing his eulogy?
Makes zero sense.

GB - always entertaining and provocative.

You know you've got the power to change his user name to Arthur Fonzarelli if you'd like.

Actually, I think that is when the team will see its offense open up drastically.

Any one of these tight ends over the year could have been more dynamic than Witten. The guy is just entirely too slow, but as a result of his relationship with Romo, you see him depend on him entirely too much.

Starts thread about Escobar and buys time to subtlety bash Witten. You are fooling no one.

That's not even close. An Achilles is a 6-8 month injury. The only reason they would have him sit out and rehab is that they don't want him on the field.

I ruptured mine in June and had surgery on June 30. I played basketball on December 15, which is 5 and a half months after surgery...and that's with working a full-time job and not being able to get in the gym every single day. The guy's job is to rehab. He should be fine come training camp.

Not sure where the disconnect is. That puts him out from June to August. Which has him missing most if not all of camp. That means no development from this year. Which doesn't bode well for his 2016 season, which either way, is his last here in Dallas.

Training camp starts in either the last week of July or August. Even if he misses the first couple of weeks, that doesn't mean he's going to miss any time in the regular season.

I think you underestimate the time it takes for players to come back in and play, especially after missing all of training camp if not all of preseason...

How much of this is on the players?

Y'all can clown on Witten all you want but none of these new comers have taken the playing time away.

I think you overestimate an achilles injury.

I'm telling you from first-hand knowledge, right now, how long the recovery is. You start rehab like 2 weeks after surgery...again, he might not be 100% come training camp, but he'll be able to participate. Tyrone Crawford talked about how he played without full strength in his achilles, but he was still able to play.

All injuries and rehabs are different, the Achilles tear is typically a nine-month rehabilitation, if not a little longer. Even if Escobar is on that schedule, he could wind up missing the first part of the regular season, and likely all of training camp.

Two years ago, defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford tore his Achilles tendon on the first day of training camp in Oxnard, Calif., in late July. He was able to get back by some of the OTA practices the following May and started camp the next year.

Ok? 9-month rehab doesn't mean you can't do anything until the 9-month mark, is what I'm saying.

Terrell Suggs tore his in April 2012 and was playing in October, just over 5 months after the injury.

Yes, I'm bashing Witten by saying what is true...

It's not true, it's your opinion and if you learned the difference it would make come off as less of an aspie. You are acting like having great hands and running precision can be replaced with a BS phrase like "dynamic". You are like someone looking at Madden speed ratings.

Dallas needs a TE, but they need a strong stud blocking TE the most at this time. Witten is still serviceable in the receiving game. Add a blocking TE now; maybe look for Witten's replacement in the next two years.

Such a waste. We've seen he can be good if he's used right but that's how it goes for the number 2 Tight End on this team

Acting like speed isn't a huge factor in today's passing NFL is pure ignorance. Great hands and precise routes, don't make a difference if you can't move the chains consistently enough and can't score in the endzone...

Suggs had an unsually fast return from an achilles tear in the NFL. He also played at the end of October. He was also a key starter for the Ravens, but the point is that this guy is going to miss most if not all of training camp and preseason, and that in his development that is an absolute killer for him being more involved in this team in 2016. He is sure to leave after this season and start somewhere else.

When Witten decides to retire{or god forbid seriously injured} this team is going to be caught with its pants down......again.

Actually I think our pants have been draped around our ankles for some time now due to a player, coach or GM or lack thereof.
