Dak looks NOTHING like a spoon fed QB. The guy is playing incredible. Sounds like someone is missing their wittle Tony Romo a little bit.

I don't think there has to be a fight about it, from either side of the aisle. At the end of the day, we're all Cowboys fans and can agree that it's looking like we will have two very good quarterbacking options.

We can disagree about the smaller picture stuff along the way, but I think we can agree that in the bigger picture, we're fortunate to have what we do and any sort of a decision to think about at all.

Honestly do you believe the stuff you're writing? As I already said Dak should have three touchdowns right now and the team should have already paid I would expect he'll find The End Zone this week I'm somebody will actually catch the ball
He has zero touchdowns. Fact. It's funny, as a card carrying Romo hater I've never seen you arguing for dropped Romo TDs or when Witten annually pops up two of his passes up in the air for easy interceptions. Dak has 0 TDs and 0 INTs, which is about what one would expect when you realize that the coaches aren't allowing him to throw the ball more than 15 yards in the air.

In case you're wondering, and I don't think you are...but just in case: *this* is the kind of post that earns you your reputation on CowboysZone, Roy. When somebody slaps you down as hard as erod did in reply to your first post, and 31 posters and counting tell you they liked it, it's time to take some stock of your posting decisions if you really don't like the reactions you're getting now.

Just my $.02.

LOL.........unlike some, I am not here for likes or to be told that I did a good job.

And until you figure out that Garrett is a joke of a head coach Im not sure your opinion will ever be worth .02 Cents

Well since you bring it up Idg, Parnell's release definitely had to do with the FO's confidence in Free, unless they were targeting a RT in the draft which never materialized or thoughts on a FA pick up. I know his 6 1/2 mill on the books didn't look very appealing to them. So if that certain someone is gonna go gunning for someone, they'll have to look beyond me. Sure wasn't my decision. Besides, I'm packin. See my avatar. Plus I'm a Marine. And we don't lose gun fights. You know that. :) But you make a good point. The FO's confidence in Free indirectly played a part in the acquisition of our potential heir apparant franchise QB.

I was just messing with him, since we all remember the Free v. Parnell debates too well.

And, yes, I know not to mess with Marines. Too much good sense, too much respect for veterans to do that, anyway. :)

If the team and front office had done their part over the past 10 years and played good defense and put just an average Oline on the field with Romo, he'd probably have a Super Bowl win or two. What's your point?

My point is that Prescott's play isn't deserving of sending him to the bench, just like Romo's play wasn't for him, despite the team losing games.

If he continues to hold up his end and puts the team in position to win, he shouldn't be thoughtlessly yanked out of the lineup for a guy who's repeatedly proven he can't stay healthy. No matter what Romo has done for this team in the past or our sentimental loyalty for him.

Agreed. I just take offense after Sunday some guy coming on here and the first thing he says is "waaaaayyy I miss Romo"?

Romo will not last 3 plays when he gets back. It's like asking my 96 year grandmother to play QB. The reality is that there's a reality.

May as well give Dak the entire season to evaluate him. He'll have his ups and downs. Let's see how he responds to the downs.

His arrow is upward. But let's give him the entire year to show us.

Fair enough. You don't have to pay me. Keep saving up for that bigger shovel since the one you're digging with now apparently isn't getting you where you want to go fast enough.

Has one TD or did you not watch the game? Ran one in.

Did you also know that he broke the rookie record for most consecutive passes without a pick? In all time history?

If I"m reading you right, it sounds like you and Roy are saying that for the time being, the Dallas Cowboys are Tony Romo's team. But that, sooner or later, they'll be Dak Prescott's team, and hopefully for a long while after that? I would think that would be something we can all agree on.

This board is a better place because of you

This board is great because of 95% of the members here. I mean, who wants an echo chamber? On the other hand, I don't think anyone should be telling anyone else that they don't belong here. Not nice and certainly not family friendly. Some are passionate about Dak and some are passionate about Romo. People are going to naturally butt heads and that's a good thing because otherwise this forum would be boring.

How much to you like Dak Prescott?

How about just sticking with something simple?

Please continue to try to ignore the fact that his receivers dropped two sure touchdowns in week one, as if nobody else actually watched the game. Or ignore the other in week two, erased by a PI grab that put the team in position to score from the 1-yard line. And then lack the self-awareness to call out others as "dim-witted" and use the word "real" to describe things.

It continues to be hilarious!

:lmao:

the better Dak plays every week the more ridiculous these guys will get with their Romo justifications. I feel their pain I didn't want to let Roger go or Troy for that matter.

I'm afraid we'll just have to let them work through this

You simply know very little about football. And I have no interest in teaching you.

Go find another forum. You add nothing here.

Don't let it get to you. I can see his point. I'm not cringing anymore when another QB is under center. To be honest I keep wondering "how in the world did we not draft this kid in the first round." But loved your post. Just think you nailed it 100%. Keep your head up and know that we are all Cowboy fans, even when we don't agree.

We can stick with as simple a conversation as you need to have. I'm on record on that topic many times already. I think Dak's done an amazing job coming up to speed as quickly as he has. I think he's a gem, and we're lucky to have him.

Luckily for us, when Romo is healthy and "if" he regains the starting QB role, (which personally I think he most assuredly will) Dak will still be with us in the event Romo succumbs to another injury or doesn't present us as the best option to win with. It's not an either/or here guys. Yes, it merits debate but it sure is a good problem to have.
