Both.

Felix needs to be used on screens, tosses, and basically anywhere he can get into space. And he needs to be on the field more, so when we finally do call his number, defenses don't immediatley key on him.

For an Ivy league educated guy, Red isn't that bright, or he's rather stubborn.

When Garrett tries to run and it gets stopped, or loses yards, he thinks it won't work and then goes away from it. Also, how is it that they can't seem to move Austin around enough to get him 1 on 1 with a safety, teams like the Colts and Patriots can do this with no problems, but he just lines Austin up and sends him directly into double coverage.

So line it up, run over guys in front of you. If it doesn't work, line up and try it again and again and again. But Garrett wants to score 40 points a game as if that's the key to winning Super Bowls.

Take your time, use your running game, play defense, then hit them when they're tired of getting pounded on.

People lets get it and get it now. Jason Garrett isn't no real offensive cordinator. Pass play with one yard left to get? Need I say more?

thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if youre going to do a play like that (screen) atleast put players who are likely to be successful doing so.. did we do one to ogletree today though..? i think i remember one and it didnt work out but much rather him that roy williams or crayton.. or barber in the backfield with 8 men in the box keyed in on it.

i wouldnt have been surprised to see barber on a fade.

The one to Ogletree wasn't as well timed as last week's and was almost thrown into the dirt. KO went low to scoop it and then lost his footing.

I thought the Packers did a good job of sniffing out most of the screens. The O-line did a horrible job of protecting today and it was helped either by longer developing pass plays or good coverage (couldn't tell from the TV shots).

I don't think the playcalling was super bad, but I think Garrett just gets too cute sometimes or overthinks things. On our first or second series, we were moving the ball really well and the Wildcat comes out. At that point, I'm asking myself "Why the wildcat/razorback?" We are running over them. Just keep running the ball. That was about the last time we were able to run the ball due to down and distance.

what frustrates me isn't necessarily this one play. it's an accumulation of goal line passing plays.

The end of the first half against the Eagles
The end of the Denver game
The Carolina game with the two incomplete fades

They keep calling the passing plays, and they don't seem to work. The one play that did work was a miracle by Romo in the Atlanta game.

NextGenBoys;3081528 said:
Exactly. You throw to either score or stop the clock, because if you dont get in on a run, another 20-30 seconds run off the clock.

You're not thinking that Romo is going to throw a pick there. At least you shouldnt be.

You cant coach a game scared to make a mistake.

Trust me, I know this far too well, I'm an Iowa fan.

Well, in the last 3 games, only one of the TD's inside the 5 has been a receiving TD. The rest have been rushing TD inside the 5 (a couple of them on first down).

In Philly game - 1 field goal because 3 incomplete passes led to 4th down (first down was at the 4 yard line)

I mean, I don't know all the stats, but from what I can tell, we are much more successful running inside the 5. True, Romo went 3 games without an INT, but from my experience of how well we usually do at the goal line running, I just thought we'd have a better chance of making the TD rushing than throwing it. But, that is my opinion.

WOW! This is like 97% of passing. Sounds just like Garrett.

Well with a pass, if it's incomplete, it stops the clock when you're already out of timeouts, as we were in that situation.

Yea, but if we score, the clock stops and we get six points. If we were the Eagles, and we didn't have a bruising back, I could see that. But we have a great power back in Barber (which by the way, needs to get more carries than Tashard). Just run it. I don't care if you go into a goal line formation with a FB to lead block. Last week we had the ball on the one yard line and ran the razorback, and umm, SCORED! I'm not one to get too emotional after wins or losses, but that was absolutely stupid. Who cares if they know it's coming, they still have to stop it. And if we have to pass, throw it up for either Roy or Bennett to get it. Put it where only your receiver is going to get the ball and no one else. People can claim the clock was an issue. Well, I'd rather have 30 less seconds AND 7 more points then the interception. We get too fancy sometimes. Just line up, and smash them in the mouth. There is a time for passing, and there is a time to tighten up your chin strap, and pound the ball in.

Jason could learn that you don't play every oponent the same way you play em every week. Cowboys should've been sticking with the run to set up the pass.

I just hope Garrett gets fired after the season is over with. New Orleans Saints has less talent than we do but they make it work. Cowboys on the other hand alot of talent but a sorry offensive cordinator.

It's like creating your football team on Madden with all the best players at every position and go against a team with the worst football players in the NFL in every position and the person that has the good team don't know how to play and the person who has the sorry team is good. That's the case here with the offense. I rather have Ray Sherman calling the plays.

1st and goal on the 1... and we're passing the ball... Why?

Our redzone offense has sucked all year because we refuse to run it in the redzone. This just didn't make sense at all.
because in his mind, he's still a quarterback. And every quarterback thinks that they can make the play with their arm.

You must have missed MB3 running it for over 5 yards a carry and TC running it for over 4 a carry.

The run was effective, until shotgun ginge decided no mas.

You're not allowed to use common sence when talking about Jason Garrett. How anyone can defend Garrett after running the ball only 14 times is beyond me. To me, this game feels like a carbon copy of the first Commanders game last year where it was a close game and the pass clearly wasn't working yet Garrett refused to run the ball. All I heard from the Garrett lovers in the offseason is that Garrett is smart and will learn from his mistakes. Really? It sure looks like the same old Garrett from last year to me.

Coach Tecmo learned how to call offensive plays from sitting up all night playing Madden on his Playstation.

We had 14 rushes on the road..............pathetic.:(

Dont even get me started on the goaline plays. First and goal from the 1 with Marion Barber is a TD 90% of the time. But oh no, lets throw it!!!

This is not the first time this has happenned, Tecmo repeatedly calls pass plays down on the goaline for some unknown reason and it has been happenning all season.

This high powered offensive could only score a TD in garbage time, how fitting. Is there anybody left on this board that still thinks Tecmo should be our next head coach???

...like.... how to be a special teams coach?

Naw, how to change up the gameplans game in and game out. For example last year Cowboys did the same plays so many times Ray Lewis was calling out the plays in the middle of the field against Cowboys last season when Jason Garrett was at Offensive Cordinator which he still is, sad to say.

To be honest about it even special teams were lackluster this week and got bailed out by a penalty in the Philly game.
