How dumb our our fans, blaming the OC for the lack of offensive production today? Seriously?

It's easier to blame a coach for a bad game than it is to face the reality that the players also made a ton of mistakes.Kinda like some people blaming the kid next door for their kid being a general screwup.

If you define 'Cowboys fans' as the gang of shrill, butthurt, childish whiners that are complaining about coordinating when the problem on offense was clearly with the players' execution, then, yes.
wrong.. (donating to a forum doesnt mean you know what youre talking about)

you must put them in a position to succeed first if you want them to execute.. thoughts?

Good Point. My point in saying what I said, is because fans complain and obvious if hundred of thousands of fans complaining about the samething, it's obvious it's a problem and we as fans hope our excuses for losing decrease. Overall I believe Cowboys beat themselves, but the offensive cordinator plays the biggest part in helping with that.

If that was true, Matt Cassell knows how to play the position. If that's true Trent Dilfer knows how to play the position. It doesn't matter whether he knew or know how to play the position, his jobs is to keep the offense in tact and stay consistent with game-winning play calls which keeps the defense off the field as long as possible by working the ball down field.[/quote]

Wasn't Dallas leading the league going into this game with having the fewest three and outs.

*** are you going on about with the donation thing? What a strange non-sequitur.

If by 'putting them in a position to succeed' you mean trying to exploit the blitz by throwing into it, then I get where you're coming from. Something tells me that's not where you're coming from, though.

Either way, it's not Garrett's fault that multiple linebackers where getting through on whiffed blocks or that OTs were letting CBs come in scott-free from the QB's blindside. Or that WRs were missing conversions on their routes, going into motion for no good reason, whiffing on balls that bounce of helmets or mis-timing jumps when wide open inside the 5 yard line.

i agree ive posted in a few recent threads in the last 30 mins or so that the cowboys came out flat as an unattractive woman yes man agree. 100%.. to me it seems like (the last two years esp, including this one) jasons playcalling, and gameplan (somewhat) have just killed us in the second half of the season.. and any wins were off sheer will and talent along with a nice amt of luck and the defense. do we get better with a new O coordinator.. maybe who knows 50/50 could go either way but yeah.

Uh, I think that's why they have something that's called "Max Protect".....

Im saying this, if the Cowboys do get an offensive cordinator, I hope it is a successful one instead of one that didn't have experience in offensive cordinating at all before Dallas (i.e. Jason Garrett). When Cowboys went 13-3, Jason Garrett had Tony Sparano help until December when Jason Garrett took over fully of the play calling. Notice how Bill Parcells use Barber and how Garrett uses him, big difference.

*That's* your beef? That we didn't curl up and go max-protect against the inside bliztes in a game that was within three points most of the afternoon? Jesus.

You beat the blitz by throwing at it and backing it off, which we do really well ordinarily and which would have worked had the team been rotating properly and not whiffing on blocks to begin with. Failing that, holding more guys in to whiff or stand still accomplishes nothing.

But what you still fail to not understand is, you can't play every team the same way. For example, I can't play the Baltimore Ravens defense like I play the Cleveland Brown or St. Louis Rams Defense. All are different, all have their own weakness, and most of all they will plan to play you different based off of your strengths and weakness as the Cowboys did to themselves today. Cowboys basically help packers on to a victory.

C'mon now, let's just think when the conerback sack Romo, Flozell missed the block, ok, that should've been a running back block. I know someone has to be open with the blitz coming at Romo.

we do not do that well ordinarily dude sorry. jasons way of doing that is with stupid screens and 60 yard passes out of no where. jason garrets cowboys offense has not done that well at all . as the past few seasons have progressed into the second half we infact do that worse and worse and he gets "Cute" and the result is this. this is cowboys december football under jason garrett. :starspinlike i said i can see where hes going... but why the hell is he taking that way to get there man..

I can't reply to this because I have no idea what you're trying to say.

Ok. You two are barely literate and don't know what you're talking about. I'm done engaging here for a bit.

Exactly, that's how many times Romo been sacked. With Jason Garrett play calling, Romo look like Rogers out there getting sacked. Maybe Garrett should've took note how to protect his quarterback from Packers offensive cordinator.

I know Packers had to have more rushing plays than we did.

really? have you read over what youve said? garrett sucks at what your saying .. he runs horrible plays to counter act whats coming at him. Do you know what your talking about? there are other ways of counteracting the blitz than screens to players who do not run them well and hurried 50 yard bombs.. we do not do those things well. sir.

You know what is worst. He had Roy Williams and Terrell Owens and had both of em going out on streak routes 50 Yards Down field with Jason Witten blocking and like eight people blitzing Romo. This happen last year in Philly and the last game in Dallas against Baltimore Ravens.

The Cowboys defense lost a fumble recovery deep in Packers' territory due to a hands-to-the-face penality on Jenkins (which happened away from the action).

And, of course, Roy Williams fumbled.

If those two things don't happen (and maybe if only one of them happens), the Cowboys win this game.

I don't think this loss is on Garrett.
