Lets see what they said about chuck berry...
I don't understand?
It's incredibly well-known within the Beatles fandom. Single most influence on the band.Lets see what they said about chuck berry...
The Beatles are still influencing bands, from Animal Collective to Tame Impala. The only other band I can think of that has this current influence from the 60's is The Beach Boys (and, namely, their masterpiece album Pet Sounds).
The Beatles started genres. Elvis predates the Beatles in Rock N Roll, a lot of bands/musicians do. It wasn't their 63-early 65 stuff (Rock n Roll) that was ground breaking (other than numerical records), it was their post-'65 catalogue.Martin Strong, "No one made a greater impact on the Beatles than Brian (Wilson)"
All bands and musicians influence each other in some way. Elvis was out there BEFORE the beatles doing rock and roll before nearly anyone else. Elvis easily predates the beatles, so its kinda silly to say they had the biggest impact when Elvis obviously did.

Brian Wilson is a music God. He is arguably the second most transcendent musician (after the Beatles) in current music (I'm not talking that top-40 crap we hear on the radio today )
Presley's first recording, a blues song titled "That's All Right Mama", was previously recorded in 1946 by Arthur Crudup. In this recording Presley married "black" and "white" genres to an extent that it was denied airplay on (white) country radio stations and (black) R&B stations, dismissed for being defined as both "black" and "white" music. Record Producer Sam Phillips was told by country deejays that Presley's "That's Alright Mama" was "black music" and lamented they would be "run out of town" for playing it. Similarly, R&B deejays categorized it as a (white) country song. When the song was finally played by one rogue deejay, Dewey Phillips,[43] Presley's recording created so much excitement it was described as having waged war on segregated radio stations. "The Sun recordings were the first salvos in an undeclared war on segregated radio stations nationwide."
Beatles were more than pop and rock. They created Psychedelia, Prog Rock, and were one of the first to create punk. They also had an influence on heavy metal. You're associating them too much to their '63-early '65 catalogue. The Beatles:
Genres
Elvis:
Genres
Who helped create what genres again? I guess rock didnt exist before the beatles? lool.
Now, lets try this again with someone who ACTUALLY invented genres.

I'm not saying Elvis didn't cover a wide range of genres. But he didn't create any, and his influence outside of certain genres is limited, today.
I listen to a lot of Elvis, have read a lot about him, too, I don't recall him starting any genres. Tho, he did make Rockabilly a viable genre.Elvis didnt create any, but he had songs people couldnt find a genre it fit into...makes sense
Can never go wrong with that amazing man, 65!You made me have to turn on some elvis here at work to cleanse my aura lol
Nice pics !!!I can't pick a single luckiest person of the last hundred years..... but the single luckiest group of people of the past 100 years is pretty obvious to me:

The Beatles did more for Rock N Roll than even the great Elvis did, even in their back half decade of music. And that's only Rock N Roll.
This really isn't even a debate, but I appreciate your perspective, my brother, 65
The beatles had 20 #1 hits on the US charts with the longest being Hey Jude at #1 for 9 weeks.
Elvis had 18 #1 hits on the US charts with the longest being Hound Dog #1 for 11 weeks.
Hound dog > Hey Jude
Mariah Carey has also had 18 #1 hits with One Sweet day topping the charts for 16 record breaking weeks.
Seriously overplaying the beatles here...hey jude is a boringggggg song and didnt even have the strength to stay #1 for longer than Elvis.
Oh no knock on Elvis. I'm a big fan.
But if I'm choosing his life or Paul McCartney's... I'm definitely taking Paul's.
Plus Paul wrote a lot of his songs... Elvis and Mariah... Not so much.
Nice pics !!!
OK, who do think is the luckiest person in the last 100 years?
I don't mean they were lucky in getting where they were– Anyone that's achieved some level of success has had to invest a certain amount of work, money and time.
I mean some when you look at their career you think "Damn talk about achievement."
