I mean, if Dak was playing at an elite level before that Atlanta game you would have a point.. but that was just not the case.

The first game of the season, Dak kept missing wide open receivers..we had to settle for field goals and we won against a bad giants team.

The Denver game..no explanation needed.

The Cardinal game, Dak had below 100 yards untill the "hail Mary" throw to Butler..

The signs were there long before the Zeke suspension and Tyron Smith injuries.
There were signs as far back as last year, but winning camouflaged alot of his shortcomings.

Not really a fair comparison, think Dak hear's Rush's footsteps? If they got a guy like KC did with Mahomes, then it becomes a contest. Rush isn't a star in waiting.

They're not going to throw it open in camp and preseason. This isn't Morton-Staubach. They're going to ride with Dak through this season and see if they can correct his accuracy/consistency issues.

I did!!!

No joke? No wonder the JAG's went form 6th to 1st on D. Of course, Calais Campbell, Church, and Bouye didn't exactly hurt!!!

Thanks for the info, I truly wasn't aware!!!!

Edit: Oh, hey Jumbo!!!!!! Hope you're having a good time here at our new home!!!

Don't have a whole lot of time to get on the fan sites these day. But every once in a while...

Ask yourself when we picked a DT high in the draft last. I remember the last high pick, Marcus Spears and that goes way back to Parcells and Spears was in a totally different defensive scheme. Maybe there was another, my memory isn't always perfect. Tyron Crawford was a third rounder but a tweener. It's more of a team philosophy than a Marinelli philosophy, it's just that the twp philosophies on DT match. A case could be made that at one point Marinelli valued DT's highly in his Tampa days. Then again, it may have been a Dungy or Kippen thing. Who knows

Spears was a 3-4 DE, not a DT.

Dak wasn't even the best rookie on his own team!

ZEKE played against the Seahawks and the Eagles. Why did our offense (passing game) look like trash in those two games?

Since the end of the 2016 season ( look it up) I have been saying that defenses will begin to stack the box and force Dak to beat them deep. That is exactly what happened in 2017.
That is what will happen in 2018.

You slobberers want All Pros across the board to carry Dak on their backs when the easy fix would be to get a competent QB under center.

We could have an offensive line full of all pro players but if Dak doesn't learn to maneuver within the pocket and make pre snap reads, it won't make a difference. 5 guys won't be able to block 7 or 8 players. Defenses usually don't blitz because the risk of giving up a big play is too much. Against Dak they do because he's scared to go deep.

We could have Randy Moss and Michael Irvin in their primes and it wouldn't make a difference. No NFL receiver gets 10 yards of separation on every play and Dak doesn't trust his arm to make most throws. He only throws when a receiver is wide open or within 10 yards. The result? A bottom half passing attack. Michael Irvin would have been run out of town with Dak.

We could have Barry Sanders as our Running back and it wouldn't make a difference. When you have 9 guys waiting for you at the line of scrimmage on a consistent basis, what can you do? If only we had a guy that made defenses pay for stacking the line by throwing deep I guarantee you they would back up and give the RB easy 5 yard runs..

It all goes back to having a good QB.
People hate pass happy offenses but a a run happy offense is the same. Both are handicapped because the defense knows what you will do. The best offense is a balanced offense. With Dak, we can't have that luxury because our game plan is to hide him and hope he doesn't have to throw...

All of our offensive woes go back to bad QB play. Even our defense played good this year.

The easy fix is to get a good QB in here. A QB that defenses have to respect...i guarantee you, Zeke will look like Smith, Bryant will look like Irvin and our O line will suddenly become dominant again..
Dak had the best rookie year of any QB in NFL history.
That fact hurts you.
You made a bunch of points that are not relevant because its all just your conjecture.
Let me see.....you say the offense sucked because Dak sucks.
Former players and analyst have all come out and said its JG offense that is stale and predictable that is the problem........
Hmm I wonder who I should believe?
Its not even close.

Prescott never played to his rookie season level the entire year. He had moments, but nothing consistent.

2016 was magic. And it was wasted.

We might look back at that season and see the one year where Prescott was elite.

If Cooper Rush were to outperform Dak in the off-season or preseason should he become the starter? Or if Dak misses the first 4 games and we are undefeated with Rush and the offense is rolling, should Dak get the starting position back? What factor should determine who our starter should be?

.
The best QB should be playing period. If Rush were to come in and knock the leather off the ball then keep him in there. If this team is rolling, keep him in there. NO different then when Dak was 8-1 and Romo stayed on the bench.

As far as preseason that is just silly.

Wrong. You get to be wrong but you don't get to rewrite history and spin it to fit your agenda.

So before the ATL game dak was so bad now.
Leading up to the ATL game Dak had 7 games with a QB Rating of 90 or better. He had 4 games with a QB rating over 100.
You do that and you are in the HOF..... Yet you want to spin it as Dak stunk all year.\

The facts spit in the face of your spin.

Only if CR vastly outplays DP in the off-season and pre-season. Experience is worth a quite a bit.

Yes if it's only 4 games. But no if he misses say 8 or 10 and they've gone undefeated and Cooper is playing well. I'm was a Romo fan, but was adamant you didn't go back to Romo in 2016 after the team had won 11 in a row with Dak. You just don't fix what ain't broke.

Before Zeke and Tyrone Smith went down Dak was on pace for 40 TD's and 9 picks. That is one hell of a season. I remember he was tearing it up in fantasy up to that point. 250 yards passing, 2 TD's passing, 40 yards rushing and a rushing TD. Those were the type of stats he was throwing up week in and week out. And that 40-9 TD to pick pace was including the Denver game where the offense basically got shut out.

I haven't completely threw the towel in on Dak, yet he has shown enough for me to seriously doubt he is the answer. I just don't get the lack of criticism he receives for the offense's inefficiency this season. Get rid of everyone, cause they can't get open, really?
ahahahahahahaha!!!!! As if you have mildly thrown in the towel at all. LOL

Talk about the most overzealous, ridiculous thing to say. Do you even understand football and how the offense works? Did you even watch the Cowboys this year? Did you even know when Zeke got suspended and Smith went down?

Witten is just old and slow. Been that way for about 3 seasons now. Williams has sucked since he got in the NFL. Cant beat single coverage. Dez has been going south for 3 years now with injuries and getting old. He has always been a poor route runner. There is NOTHING "all of a sudden" about any of that.

What's with the Rush crush?
Neither of these Guys will ever be the biggest reason We win a SB, best We can hope for either, is that They're not the biggest reason why We don't.

Personally, I think Rush looked incredible in the little that we saw of him. I would even venture to say that he looked as good as Dak did in his first preseason. But Rush doesnt have the element of the mobile QB. Or at least I dont recall it.

The majority of this fan base or at least cz is pretty much done with Dak. If Rush were to take over and struggles I wonder if the sentiment would be the same? I'm in the minority in the mindset that Dak has the right stuff to be a franchise qb.

Dak has already shown and proven he has exactly what it takes to be a franchise QB. There is no question about that whatsoever.

And there is no minority. You have a handful of Romo cry babies morons that havent even realized yet that Tyrone Smith and Zeke missed 6 games in the 2nd half of the season. LOL
