There are too many other factors to consider in lists like this.

This is merely a snapshot of a player's contract in a given year.

The snapshot is acutely accurate to what happens to running backs in this league. Lynch carries suggest he is next for a decline.

I don't want to break this thing up we go going with the running game.

If he is willing to be reasonable, I don't have a problem with a 3 year deal.................he is only 26 yrs old,...............RBs typically start to tank off around 29-30.

But.... We're going through his first season with no injury issues (so far) and likely not coincidence, it's his contract year. Extend him, and get ready to see him nursing all the "soft tissue" injuries we saw with the likes of Miles Austin, for recent example, instead of being out there making yards..

No. Ride him like the rented mule he is then either shop him off or let him shop.

So I guess the same should hold true for Dez, he has had some injuries as well so he gets a contract and starts nursing injuries. Best not sign him either.

You make a good point about the durability issue......................but man, if he leads the NFL in rushing with 1800 yards and 20 TDs it is going to be dam hard to just let him walk out the door.

This line of thinking makes Emmitt merely average. Sturdy yes, but a product of his O-line.
And which, he wasn't since no other back could seem to gain any yards behind our line when Emmitt was out....

You give him around 5 million a year - He is young and productive. You don't insult him by giving him Frank Gore and Fred Jackson money. Those guys are in their 30s - while they are productive they are at the end of their careers. Murray is a fantastic running, but is pass protection and catching the ball out of the backfield make him even more valuable.

Maybe in the 4 for 20 range (sb in 12 range, 2-3 salary(ish)? , but no way higher than that (even that makes me feel like a politician considering the better judgement of drafting a couple of other rbs to compete). No need to be so absolute about it...let 3 RBs do it like other teams if Murray's price range gets too high. Remember his inj history and fumbles this year too. He may get 8 somewhere else and should end the convo. Why we should also see what Williams can do behind this OL around mid season.

Right you just ask, "where was all this production, durability and effort in previous years when it wasn't your contract year?" and it becomes alot easier.

So said the Saints and Mark Ingram.... or Reggie Bush with the dolphins/lions.... or when people said Charles wouldn't be a great RB because he had fumbling issues ? Oh Hey Trent RIchardson says Hi to.... Scouts are as accurate as weatherman - No team hits on every pick -

Oh you are so right! I guess I will not get in my car tomorrow because every time I do I end up in an accident. Or better, yet, maybe I should not get out of bed because there are just too many uncertainties in life.

I guess the Cowboys should stop drafting altogether and give their picks away.

Yeah then it will not disrupt the daily whining and complaining about Jerry. Just think if this team starts winning we have many posters who will not know what to do with themselves. Lol
So lets ditch all player who look as if they just may be special and ship them off. I’m sure there are some teams who have intentions of winning championships who would love to have Murray

Who cares re: the bolded.

Look, Murray's injuries except for one knee issue have all been the non x-rayable, "soft tissue" crap we saw Austin malinger on for years. And Austin wasn't the first one to do that. If you want to "change the culture" you gotta stop enabling this behavior at some point.

Murray isn't special. He's not even a nifty back. He is a good back, not a nifty one. He's more akin to Hershel than he is to Emmitt. Emmitt WAS special, and nifty. Murray is neither.

He is beasting it this year to get a big extension, then he will go back to the bench mostly.

Let's shop him around first, and let him shop.

So how do you think your Texans will do this weekend?
Murray was a very good back in college and has shown he is a very good back in the NFL. Last season played in 14 yet was still one of the top backs in the NFL.

The default position of one who can't debate, accuse the opponent of not being a Cowboys fan.

I SAID Murray is a good back. But he is not nifty.

Let him shop around and shop him as well, see what we can get for him. What's SO disturbing about that?

Injuries happen across the league it is part of playing football and part of the NFL. You acting as if Murray is just putting on is a load of BS or running hard because it is a contract year, you don't have a clue just a bunch in stupid remarks.

I don't "act" that way, I believe it.

He is not in any way special, he is not nifty. YOU are losing your mind over the very IDEA we might shop him around or let him test the market. Why is that?
