I'll take Randle and our current OL. You guys can have Murray.

Again, I like Murray, but the success is Mostly cuz of the OL.

Then as soon as Randle struggles and we go pass happy, we rue.

Or, Dunbar misses a Blitzer and it's the Weeden show.

I'll take Murray every day, and definitely wouldn't want to play against him.

Then why did we bother upgrading the OL if he was doing so well? LOL

Same reason Seahawks did even though they have Lynch at RB. Great OL and Great back make a great combo. Same with Smith and the wall he had in Dallas yet other backs never had the same success when filling in for ES

If it comes down to it, I like Randle to be Murray's successor.

You want Randle so then your saying you want a lesser RB? Murray starts because he is better runner and blocker and yet Dallas should go backwards?

Ah I see. Trying to put words in my mouth, as you always do.

You have trouble seeing the big picture?

I don't think Randle is better than Murray at anything... besides special teams maybe.

Cowboys are still facing cap challenges and he would have been signed already if he was in the plans. Get over it.

The Cowboys have to find a way to keep Murray. It's not easy to find an Alfred Morris in the 6th round. Good teams find a way to keep their most valuable players, and Murray is certainly one of them.

Not trying to put words in anyone mouth and not having an issue with big picture. I have seen what this team looks like being a pass happy team with JAG talent at RB and OL and I have seen this team win championships with top RB and great OL. I want a championship not low ball a very talented player.

I don't think Murray should get Peterson money I do think he deserver fair market value for the job he is doing and has done.

Out of this list the only players in the Top 10 in rushing are Gore and Forte and they are tied for Tenth.. Hopefully Murray will sign for around 3 million a year.. Not likely but I'm hoping..
Some trivia unrelated to contract talk...
Lynch already had his bye week.

The bolded part of your comment is precisely what is in dispute. (Even among those, like me, who acknowledge that Murray is one of our more talented players.)

I think Randle is great to have to give Murray a breather and take some of the load, he is strong back but not the same talent level

In an ideal world I'll take Murray and our OL... and Dez. However, I live in the real world. There is a thing called a salary cap. Murray is easier to replace than Dez.

People, stop comparing Emmitt to Murray. Its embarrassing.

By the way, Randle is averaging 6.3 ypc this year. Before someone (you know who you are) tries to put words in my mouth... no I'm not saying that means he's as good as Murray. Im only pointing out that our backup RB has seen success this year, unlike the backups during Emmitt's era.

I don't know how anyone could dispute that Murray is one of the top players on this team at this point.

The best pure runner in the organization, imo, is Ryan Williams.

However, Murray is by far the best overall back.

One doesn't have to dispute this in order to address your original comment: one only has to dispute whether he is one of the most valuable players on this team going forward.
