This is too much. No Fun League rears it's ugly head again

I'm pretty much only outraged because this probably means 2010 all over again-- subjective penalties that referees only seem to enforce when Dallas is the possible offender.

Exactly. Just what the league needs. More subjective rules open to interpretation enforced by a collection of officials who prove year after year they can't be subjective and consistent.

I'm not a big fan of all the "look at me!!!" crap that gets worse and worse every year but I'm also not a fan of trying to rule it out of the game. I wish individual teams would make an effort to get it under control.

Bruce Smith is the first defensive player I remember who took it to the extreme.

I blame him.

I am not in favor of restricting any celebrations to any degree until the Lambeau Leap is addressed.

This rule is too extreme I agree.

I can't stand see'ing Marcus Spears do a dance when he makes a basic tackle though.

I wish they would've let the Coaches police it themselves for 1 year before they went this route.

Just tell the guys if you wanna dance and go crazy you better have made a play worth all that dancing.

It looks like Ware's Hulk reaction is now banned:

“These acts include but are not limited to: sack dances; home run swing; incredible hulk; spiking the ball; throwing or shoving the ball; pointing; pointing the ball; verbal taunting; military salute; standing over an opponent (prolonged and with provocation; or dancing.”

The "home run swing" I've only seen done by Alfred Morris. Wow. How is that unsportsmanlike or taunting to an opponent?

Man, the NFL and the networks loved the military salute when TD was doing it during the Broncos' Super Bowl runs. Now, it's beyond the pale. Sadly, there are probably committees worth of NFL yahoos making six figures each, whose sole job is to come up with this asinine, rule-bound minutiae.

It is getting a little out of hand, but, come on already. More rules??

ENOUGH WITH THE RULES.

The sad part is where do you draw the line? IMO there's a difference between outright obnoxious self-aggrandizement and taunting and a genuine passion for getting your team that coveted 7. Ban the idiotic dancing but keep everything else IMO.... "pointing?" You can't POINT? That's stupid. And so many players give the gameball to a kid - is that going away too? Ugh...

So can Packers still launch themselves into the crowd?

That's always been against the NFL rules, they just never called it from what I remember. (I'm going on my memory with my statement)

This new rule also spells doom for the entire Seahawks team. This rule makes them a walking penalty.

Actually I think it is time to crack down on all the stupidity and exhibitionism that is rampant. After just about every play.

I see no mention of the awkward humping motion celebration (I believe it was by brandon jacobs or one of the Giant DEs)... That was really the only celebration worth banning. The NFL continually finds ways to make me irritated with stuff like this. For me, it started with defensive pass interference penalties which way over the top. Then the tuck rule. Then the bogus penalties for hitting "defenseless receivers". This year's RBs cant lower their heads is another awful addition to the game.

The more time has passed the more I prefer college ball. The NFL seems to want a completely take emotion and physicality out of the game and turn it into arena football with flags.

Imagine all of the classic celebrations we've seen over the years. The ones from the 80s...Michael Irvin...all would not exist if it was up to this clown Goodell.
