I really couldn't care less about a QBs throwing motion as long as he has a quick release and is accurate. There's more than one way to skin a cat.

True. So many different ways to throw the ball. They got time to get things right. He'll be alright

Most QB's coming out of college need some type of work, many with footwork and throwing motion, and how they work together.
College football does not produce Robo QB's, or as Parcels once said...what am I supposed to do, dial 1-800-Quraterback...or what ever that saying was....

He conveniently forgets that Dak progressed and got better every year in college. That, and he's no dummy considering he has his masters degree.

I'm not worried in the least. We didn't draft Dak to start and Romo is as good a QB coach as there is. So he's in good hands.

that's irrelevant to the merits or lack thereof of Wade Wilson. his job is to work with the QBs, not to create the gameplan. So again, where has Wilson failed?

A QB coach is there to make a Qb better, yes? Wade Wilson has failed do that with a single QB,infact he has made them worse.Heck the Texans resigned Weeden and he won them a game on his debut over there by throwing deep to Hopkins.

Why don't you tell us who he developed? He's had multiple (young) QB's on the roster, including a previous 4th round pick, and they washed out. We bring in Weeden and Cassel and they flop miserably. Cassel said when he reported here no one was available to start working with him. I'd think if I was a QB coach and we just signed a new QB during the season, I'd cancel my dinner plans on the weekend and get to work.

I don't know why it's some shocking revelation that some fans have questions about Wade Wilson. You should really have those same questions.

Oh I thought Troy Aikman worked out OK and Steve Walsh with that supplemental pick .
I think Tony Romo has been alright also.

JJones hasn't invested much in the way of high caliber QB's.

I love the idea of teaching an NFL QB how to throw a football properly. Love it.

Wasted pick.

Typical ray of sunshine from you. Almost every QB that comes into the league gets some kind of training in regard to their throwing motion. It's no different than golfer's adjusting their swing. And oh yeah, Romo's got completely reworked by David Lee. How did that work out?

Vince Mayle was the best receiver out there.

We knew Dak had a lot of work to do.

Darius Jackson will have to be great on special teams.

Gathers looked clumsy on the one rep we saw. I still like the potential.

Not sure how you can take much from this one video.

Peyton Manning gets up on his toes when he throws as well. There's nothing wrong with doing that as far as footwork goes.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought Romo had a 3/4 delivery coming out of college and pretty bad footwork. It's possible that I'm just misremembering though. It happens. I'm old. :)

No, you're not misremembering.

I think it would be generous to say that Romo had a 3/4 delivery in college. Often times it was just plain ole sidearm. He also had major footwork issues. As Parcells said 'whenever you are throwing it bad, it's your footwork that is getting you in trouble.'

If you talk to former QB's in the league, they will tell you that the footwork in a WCO offense takes about 1-year of hard work to get down. This scheme is far less detailed in footwork than a WCO scheme, so getting the footwork down shouldn't be that hard to get down with hard work. And again, there's nothing wrong with getting up on your toes to throw the ball. Hell, even Romo tries to do that.

Surprised Dak has never taken snaps under center before. I had no idea he was so raw.

uhh Good thing we drafted marcus spears and not rogers in 05 we would have wasted a pick teaching him how to properly throw a football since his mechanics had to be adjusted coming out of tedfords offense and teaching.

that never works, just ask that rogers guy.

Yessiree, no QB that is ever drafted should need to work on their mechanics.

Can you provide any evidence of any QB regressing in the areas he's in charge of? footwork, mechanics?

Heck the Texans resigned Weeden and he won them a game on his debut over there by throwing deep to Hopkins.

Is that not Garrett/Linehan and not Wilson?

he was playing with the number 1 defense and beat the worst team in the league. Why is this always brought up as some sort of measurement of good or bad coaching in Dallas.

I mean he literally beat a team in the titans that quit. That was the talk of the titans last year they quit playing and the team was a mess.

houston was 6-1 vs the titans in the previous 7 games, the defense forced 4 turnovers and scored a TD.

this idea that he went to foxborough and beat the patriots while at the helm in houston is comical.

Dak Prescott's throwing mechanic is, in a word... poor. Looks like he stops entirely and raises up on his tippy toes to throw (reason he appears to throw off his back foot). Seems telegraphable; easy picks. Gotta look like you can still move when throwing...

Elliott just appears to be in a whole other league of 'natural' movement than the rest of the backfield goons.

Receiver group still looks overly pedestrian. Can we bioengineer a serviceable wideout using Ed Eagans drive/ability, mated with Rico Gathers' size (holy crap that guy is a GIANT..but didn't look too coordinated).

http://www.dallascowboys.com/video/2016/05/06/minicamp-live-first-look-dak-zeke-field

He threw off his back foot a lot in college. That's why he appears to have bad arm strength. He'll need some work, but it's all fixable.
