On Wilson: I don't really care if he's to blame or not. The question is, do we have any reason to believe that he's the best guy out there to develop a new raw QB? "Not his fault" isn't really a compelling argument. Maybe he is the best QB coach in the history of the league and he'll prove it by turning Dak into Peyton Manning. But color me skeptical until I see some evidence in support of his coaching abilities.

@waving monkey @MichaelWinicki @Idgit

Wade Wilson didn't even develop Romo. Romo was developed while Wade Wilson was gone and is a product of Sean Payton and Bill Parcells.

Wade Wilson was gone from 2002 to 2007. When Romo was drafted and groomed. Funny coincidence.

Wade Wilson has done nothing as a QB coach. There is zero evidence to show that he has assisted in developing a QB talent. He worked for the Bears as a QB coach from 2004-2006 and did jack squat there.

Best thing he has ever done was Rex Grossman. If that is what you want out of a QB coach, then fine, but don't question why other people want a change.

Romo gives credit to David Lee for his early development.

Because Wilson has worked with all the backups brought in here and has done nothing good with any of them.

Ah. Which of them were you expecting him to turn into a long term starter then? A probowler? An all-pro?

Point being is that many college QBs these days don't take snaps under center. Including the one drafted first overall.

I appreciate your point but there are colleges out there teaching the style of offense that the Cowboys play. Why not draft one of those guys? Being ready for an NFL career from the day they are drafted seems like it would save our team so much time.

Pro style offenses are rare in college these days and just because they have a qb in it doesn't mean the guy has enough talent for the nfl.

He has 4th round talent doesn't he?

He was drafted by the Browns in the 4th round. Does it mean he has 4th round talent? You tell me.

Do you also think Brandon WeDone has 1st round talent ?

A QB coach is there to make a Qb better,yes? Wade Wilson has failed do that with a single QB,infact he has made them worse.Heck the Texans resigned Weeden and he won them a game on his debut over there by throwing deep to Hopkins.

Wait, so you think after Weeden went to the Texans their QB coach coached him up real quick so he was able to throw the deep ball?

for the sake of a different line of thinking, at what point is it on the player? How do we know he hasn't given these young QBs all of the tools and teaching they need to succeed and they just haven't gotten it because they aren't good/smart enough?

After the 1st round every QB is developmental. Give me a QB with good work ethic, brains, leadership ability, etc. any day of the week over someone who might need a little less work. Though can I ask, how does an SEC QB with such bad mechanics put up better stats than a Big 10 QB that many are complaining that we didn't draft almost 2 rounds earlier. How was he able to put up such a high completion % in such a tough conference then go on to be the Senior Bowl MVP if he is so bad?
