Thoughts on Romo and Why I said it

If, as you state, everyone should have the right to discuss/critique/praise the players on the team, should everyone not also have the right to discuss/critique posters, as well? We're only allowed to discuss players?
Exactly. Everyone is entitled to hold their own opinion and convey it. But everyone else is entitled to laugh at them for it.

so what? he could play last year and the year before last and where did that get us.
So, you're going to sit there, knowing he's a very good QB, and tell me that he has no chance of playing well late in the season? It's a team sport, smacktard, and this team hasn't done well late in the season for a LONG time. Romo has the skill set to take us all the way, period.

And what leads you and Zrinkill to think the way he has always played in December and January is going to change?

Did he protect the ball today?

Did you see any forced balls?

Did he throw any interceptions?

Prove to us that he has not changed or shut up.

SHAME ON YOU utrunner07! I stopped reading after you compared Tony Romo to Danny White. Danny was a good QB, but things just didn't go his way.

Tony is 10 times the QB as Danny. Ben wouldn't be where he is if he didn't have LeBeau and the Steelers D. Think about it before you go nuts.
You should follow your own advice
How about letting Tony WIN a few playoff games 1st..............

People who bash the original poster of this thread are smacktards. Everyone should have a right to discuss/critique/praise the players on the team. I do not see where the poster slammed Romo. He stated his opinion and everyone should be allowed to have an opinion on the players and not just automatically have to praise them because they have a star on their helmet. Romo deserves praise for hanging in there today and battling back. Let's all talk again in Nov/December and see where we are. If he deserves praise, he will get it. If he deserves to be bashed for his play, he should be. Objectiveness should rule.

great points. I don't know what he said in the game thread, but I see nothing wrong with this post.

I just hope that Romo can prove all doubters wrong.

He was much less reasonable in the game thread. He bet somebody that the next pass would be a pick. It just happened that the next pass was a TD. Now, he's backpedaling quite a bit in an effort to sound more palatable and play some sort of victim.

he nearly threw two picks today because he was trying to force the ball. and yes i know there were not any interception but we were also playing against Tampa...not Philli, Pitt, NY, etc...

I guess thats the difference, I don't really see that he has made all that much improvement in the last year and a half or so and this team is not dominant enough in other areas to make up for a QB that is going to have a few critical mistakes in big games. IF you don't agree with me thats fine, I hope you are right. I don't see the point in calling me a "smaktard" or other such things...some of you won't to talk about acting five years old...

yeah i did not feel the need to fully explain my opinion concerning Romo in the GAME THREAD. And actually I said that Romo would through a pic before the HALF was out trying to force the ball, thats not that outlandish if you watched many games last season...

This is a Dallas Cowboys forum is it not? To discuss the Dallas Cowboys, players and football. Not a bash other fans with dissenting opinions forum... or am I wrong here? LOL

FYI, Tampa had more INTs than Philly, Pitt and New York last year.

So now you are gonna hold what "nearly" happened against him?

That is why others are mocking you.

Its not the result, its the action. He made the same mistakes he has always made, just because it did not result in an interception THIS TIME, does not make it any better. He still is making the same mistake.

You bet on it dude. Why would you bet against your team or a Cowboy? It doesn't make sense, unless you're a troll or a fan of another team. I've had more logical discussions with Commanders fans. At least many of them respect what Romo brings to the game, albeit begrudgingly.

You're right though, I shouldn't be calling you a smacktard, however much you act like one. Some people are critical of players on our team, and that's fine. I usually don't say much to them. You, however, are illogical and maddening at times.

So Peyton manning before 2005 could never when the big one either right?

Or Troy Aikman before 1992

Or every other QB that did not win before his 3rd year as a starter.

You are ridiculous.

I have been off the Tony bandwagon since the first Philli game (yes, even though we won) and have yet to get back on. I doubt I ever will because I see where he is heading. As for who I would take over him:

E. Manning, P. Manning, J. Garcia, M. Castle, M. Hasselbeck, D. Brees, P. Rivers, J. Cutler and M. Ryan....and hopefully next year Tim Tebo will be taken over him.

As someone suggested, you only have to look at a posters history to get a perspective. Let's see how this season shakes out and see how he'd have this franchise running if he were in charge.

You are the one being illogical, expecting a different outcome than last year, what has changed?

BTW if you read my posts, I know you have, you would see that I do respect Romo.

Of course I expect a different outcome. It is typical to think that a QB progresses. Look at today's game. You have no leg to stand on.

Yes, it is. And for the most part, debate/discussion is what's going on. Since the OP threw the thread out there, he was obviously looking for debate/discussion regarding his thread. He should expect some/many to disagree with him given the subject of his thread since he's on a Cowboys discussion board where Cowboys fans tend to participate. I'd say if you can't take the heat, then don't start the fire!

Was that the 10 dollar bet I asked about earlier?

(Hope you got some dinner BTW)
