So, you think we should keep pushing money down the road just to finish 9-8?
I was making it clear they could easily sign numerous players as soon as next year if they chose to do so.

Do you honestly think they are going to leave 3 contracts as is and have $100 million dumped into base salaries?

Fun with numbers. He has a higher impact overall. And the future amounts keeps them from getting better players in the very near future.
Do you just make things up in your imagination or actually look them up?

2025 - 32.89%
2026 - 23.26%
2027 - 19.81%
2028 - 21.51%

Nowhere close to 40%.

My thoughts exactly. My head is about to explode continuing to listen to some defending what we gave up is somehow worth it if he can be "developed." How about we begin by developing the 2nd round TE (Schoonmaker) we took in last year's draft; and the 6th round WR (Flournoy) we took in this year's draft. We need playmakers who's skills were developed long before they got here, so they can contribute in winning football games. Instead we get a player no better than whom we have on our practice squad, just so some old, senile fool can make headlines.
This!!!!

We just spent next years 4th round pick on him. Maybe we could take another WR in round 1 to pair with Lamb and go full Matt Millen.
We don’t have a legitimate 2 on this roster and the depth just isn’t that good

I hate the Eagles and Commanders so much that I decided to be more positive. I question Carolina as an organization and don’t believe they used Mingo properly. I don’t think the Cowboys trust any receiver after CeeDee and I expect Mingo to get a chance. He is 6’2, runs a 4.46 forty so there is talent. Just put him out there and see what he can do. Don’t bury him if he messes up keep him out there.
I don’t hate the player, hate the high pick we traded to get him

This isn't a now move, but more towards the future. Mingo is very raw, but does possess elite athletic traits. He could potentially become that X receiver we lack. By trading for him, doesn't exclude the team from drafting another high receiver this year. Probably overpaid a little, but they are banking on his upside. I really liked him in the draft 2 years ago, has some Dez Bryant qualities, but he is more in the Jalen Tolbert level right now and won't make a big, immediate impact.
Overpaid and front office idiots as per usual!

he had 12 receptions for 120 yards....and this is going to be a high 4th round pick when good players have often slipped and to be found in the draft.....

this was a pure pure marketing move by Jerry to show he is all in and he is doing something....

this move was stupid and a move of desparation!!!! the idiot
I think this was similar to Lance trade, had a 2 and think a 4 is worth it. Time will tell

Horrible trade. He barely got on the field for the worse team in the NFL. This trade will not help the Cowboys. This team should be selling, not giving up draft picks for second rate players. This just shows Jerrys delusion.

Trading Cooper wasn't about compensation. Clearly. They just wanted him gone.
According to Jerry it was because of money but it was stupid to give him up for a 5th round pick, when the team we traded him to ended up getting a 3rd rounder for him. It shows just how poorly managed the team is.

If Cooper an accom0lished WR and WR1 was worth a late 3rd is this guy who has been71st in receptions and yards in past two years worth a high 4th?

Considering the team’s current status, this trade makes me think of grandpa picking up the grandkids in his land yacht and taking them out to a water park, all you can eat pizza, ice cream-and video games. Except the grand kids are in their mid 40’s and have children of their own. Thanks grandpa-are you okay driving home?

Not like he's a rookie ...and we should have instead made it a "conditional" late round pick..instead of a surec mid round...

He's raw but so is Ryan flournoy who on paper copies Mingos physical measurements

I agree, should of been more of a mid to late day 3 pick and he is very similar, but comes from a bigger school then Flournoy. Timing of the move is puzzling.

You have to consider taking on money in these deals, it isn't an apples to apples discussion. Cooper's deal was a salary dump.
