If the league overstepped their bounds, which they have done in the past, Jones most definitely can sue.

You seem to be operating under the assumption Elliott definitely hit this girl. Do you know that for a fact?
Not at all. I have no information that the accusations are true . I think the suspension could be more of an accumulative disciplinary decision along with sending a message to Jerry.

And that's BS. Why should Zeke pay a stiffer penalty for what other's have done?

That's not fair.
Fair? And why would that play into the decision?
Of course it's BS.

I'm just presenting my view why I think they'll render the decision.

I am glad people in the media are starting to post this. It is like some of them just realized a die hard giants fan is leading the investigation.

And that's exactly what could get them successfully sued. The NFLPA is watching very closely.

Zeke had never been arrested in his life. Nothing here is illegal other than the speeding ticket.

Nothing. Zero, zilch, nada. Entirely based on feelings and potential bias.

But there has to be some basis for violations under the Personal Conduct Policy.

The league can't say, "well we can't prove you beat that girl, but we think you did, so we are going to suspend you under the Personal Conduct Policy for some minor infraction we think we can prove."
Again. Read the Policy. The accusations of DV could be enough if the NFL determines the situation is detrimental to the league . They can make the same determinations on his other incidents as well .

If I knew how I'd post the Policy here. Everyone needs to brush up on it.

I'm not sure it needs to be illegal to be considered detrimental to the league ?
Brady deflating balls wasn't illegal .

Detrimental to the league Is a very wide variable with broad meaning.

The league can't punish Elliott "as a message to Jones". That's precisely a reason where Jones could sue the league.

Of course they cant officially . I'm just suggesting it could be influencing the decision. They could never admit that .

I've been so busy here Im just now catching up on the info being reported that Zeke destroyed evidence in the case. Obstruction might be enough.

Obviously we'll wait and see what happens, but this has shades of the Dez Bryant "ten times worse than the Ray Rice tape" story that turned out to be a bunch of crap.

Edit: and I see this one was written by Florio - even better! Same source, same crap!
There remains a possibility of a chance that something may or may not have occurred.

We clearly can't tolerate that.

I don't know what the NFL has uncovered. But the accuser has some serious credibility problems. No DA was going to charge Elliott with stuff like this in the hands of the defense.

It still has to have some basis in facts and evidence. They can't suspend anyone for something they think may have happened but can't at least prove to some level.

Giants kicker Josh Brown beat the crap out of his wife for years, and got what? One game?

That is my biggest gripe in this whole matter...Brown's was an open and shut case and the guy got 1 game. Zeke found innocent by the law and...If he is suspended (unless there are facts I don't know about) I will not buy any trademarked NFL gear and invest in Chinese after marked NFL rip off companies.

Carter's revelation is contradictory. His source is feeding him that there is obvious evidence of DV but the suspension will be for refusal to cooperate. My gut is that he's much too dumb and has misinterpreted the information, thus the competing statements.

Absolutely, and for the life of me I don't know why the NFLPA agreed to give the league such wide latitude. As written a mere allegation w/o any proof could be viewed as 'detrimental to the league' and warrant a suspension.

I'll overlook the small detail that such a one sided policy exposes employees to blackmail.

Exactly and what is on the "list" for the Personal Conduct Policy? Being on a boat in a picture showing illegal drugs? Not walking your dog for 12 hours? Not saying bless you when someone sneezes?

If there is evidence he did something wrong then prosecute and suspend him, if not then the commissioner is saying I can suspended anyone I want anytime I want for whatever reason I want.

I'm not sure. They know there was an incident and a DV or assault case at least initially . That means something happened. And now it's being reported he destroyed evidence . Then throw in the other minor incidents .IDK just speculating.

But It appears the league has broad jurisdiction in determining detrimental to the league .
