I find it humorous and a little sad that with some real problems on the team so many have to whine about something that is NOT a problem. What a coach thinks of a player shows when the game is on the line. Who gets the ball THEN.

I want to see the best players play and barber is much more exciting than Jones.

I like the work I saw out of both backs last night. I do think Barber is showing himself as the better back but as long as these guys are producing then that is all that matters.

Yes but football at the NFL level is supposed to be entertaining. we all know its much more exciting and fun watching barber drag guys into the endzone or running over defenders in the open field than watching Jones dart throgh a crowd and dive for a few yards.

I don't give a rats rear end about entertaining. I want the win. You can stick entertaining where the sun don't shine. You get caught up in the flash and miss the substance.

I just want the team to win and the bottom line is both backs are going to play and Garrett is using Barber earlier in the game than what we have seen before. If he feels Barber should be starting I'm sure he will make the move until then I expect both backs to produce when they are in the ball game and last night they did. Believe me I'm a Barber guy but I'm not anti-Jones.

Our OL did a good job, and our passing game was deadly. Both backs got the job done.

I'm not concerned one whit about the RBs. Julilus is adequate, and MBIII is great, as backup RBs go.

What concerns me is the wretched defense. Going back to last year, except for the Eagles game, the offense was pretty good even in December. On the other hand, the D hasn't been good since the Saints game last year.

Julius Jones is exactly who we thought he was. All the big preseason talk cant hide yet another mediocre performance. I wont miss him a bit after this season.

whatever. And if we see more 21 yard TD runs from barber, they will continue to win.

Everything is working fine. Keep it the way it is. Let's focus on our pass coverage.

Julius does seem a bit better than Barber in the passing game.

Barber is supposed to be our slower, more mundane power back.... yet he is the more exciting player and seems to show up on the highlight reels more often then our "home run" threat......

I'm sure the coaches have Julius starting for a reason, they should know more about this then I, but from what I've seen MB3 is the better back....

My guess is that they don't think MBIII can take the pounding if he were to get 20+ carries per game. He really tries to punish defenders, something JJ doesn't do. Parcells loved the guy and yet he still gave the ball far more often to Jones.

The D played well in the playoffs. They shut down Alexander and confused Hasselback. The offense did not do well in that game as far as scoring.

Work is needed on the defense, but they have shown they can play well. They need to be much more consistent.

Same with the offense. Splashes of greatness at times and a need to be more consistent.

The defense was ok against Seattle, but hardly played well.

They had a chance in the last 2 minutes to give the offense the ball back in Seattle territory but pulled their typical gutless collapse and allowed Alexander to go for 20.

In summary, the defense's last six games include 5 horribly embarassing performances, and one ok against Seattle.

It's hard to argue anything other than the reality that the defense - especially sans Newman and Ferguson - just isn't very good.

It could be even worse....Newman may not be able to play this year, and if he does, he may be only a shadow of the guy we're used to seeing.

THIS is a good problem to have. A backup RB who is pushing the starter for his job.

All of our injuries, esp. Fergie, those are bad problems. I'm not gonna bite my nails over who's going to be the starting RB. They're both going to get PT and I'm going to enjoy watching them both.

Barber will be starting at some point at the demise of JJ's lack of production. Guranteed! The coaches are blind because i was watching the damn game on a 50 some inch flat tv and barber clearly outperformed jj's bull****!

That's an eloquent double negative you have there.

My problem with JJ is that he rarely ever breaks tackles. Also, running out of bounds when we are trying to run out the clock is beyond stupid....
