Wouldn't call Troy a poor man's anything, guy was elite...but I definitely think that if Palmer comes back 100% to what he was before the injury and continues his progress, he will clearly be the best QB in the league at some point in the next two years.

I don't agree on Mcnubb. True I probably have some homerism tinting my assessment but I really think he has been on the decline. I do agree that he was one of the best in the biz as recently as a few seasons ago and of course he was injured this past year...but the dude has put on a ton of weight and his threat to run, which was part of what made so threatening, has diminished significantly. He has always been a good but not great passer. In fact, you might remember there were at least two stretches where McNubb's play was so poor that the philthy media and fans wanted to bench him.
I think having TO last year actually did nothing but rent them one more year of competitiveness that they shouldn't have had and I think Mcnubb's skills have been on the decline. He can prove me wrong with a big year this year but I think they finish last in the division and Mcnubb probably struggles with injury again. I personally think the guy is overweight and too CHUNKY and that perhaps has led to his injuries (there's also a reason someone can't finish a game because they're too tired....)

McNabb has always been chunky and still effective. 2 seasons ago he was utterly dominant with TO there. Last season he still played well, regardless of the injury, until the last game he played (where Westbrook took over and Roy grabbed it).

But everyone always talks about his overrated passing, yet his number just don't justify it. For some reason he still makes completions and TDs, and throws more of those than INTs. If you do that once or twice, overrated is a good word. But he's done this for half a decade. If he plays uninjured and still shows decline, he will slip. But I for one am not going to forget 4 years of Eagles domination over the NFCE just because of one season.

Lelly Holcomb and Brad Johnson. Both came on strong last year and I think they will build upon that success...

I agree they looked good last year...
I disagree that they will impress this year.
Holcomb has made a living by coming in and playing against defenses that gameplanned for someone different. Without that advantage...I see him struggling.
Brad Johnson is on borrowed time at this point in his career. He's a wily vet like Brunell that can get a team by on his wits alone and making few mistakes...but the skills are declining...not improving and neither are long-term answers...even short-term (1-2 yr) answers and their teams know it.

The Bledsoe homerism is just stunning.

I have no idea what football games you folks have been watching, I really don't.

I put him where I did because I looked at all the other teams in the NFL and really wasn't as impressed with QBs as I thought I might be. In this era, so many teams are 'satisfied' with their starters, but when i look at who they are, I find that outside the top 6, QBs aren't that impressive right now.

I didn't mean it as a slap in the face or anything.

Palmer is most usually compared to Aikman because their game seems so similar, but I feel that Palmer might actually have a slightly higher ceiling.

McFlabb has been over rated for years. He always chokes in the biggest game- whether the NFC Champ or the SB.

When Palmer has 3 rings THEN you can compare him to Troy- NOT BEFORE.

And he's still a better QB than Bledsoe... Anyone that thinks otherwise is a "homer". No more, no less.

I would argue that he no longer is better then Bledsoe. Only if he can come back and lead and perform as he did without TO as like in 2003 is he better. And for all your talking about McFlabb being better then Bledsoe- he did not choke like McFlabb did in big games.

Didn't Bledsoe have a worse SB performance? Note - not being argumentative, I really don' remember all that well.

Bledsoe was doing oK in the SB untill Howard did his thing and they got way behind. After that it was all over. Most of his bad stats happened in the fourth when they were behind and time was running out.

Yeah, it's never Drew's fault.

They all had teams better equipped to make the playoffs.....the fact that Bledsoe by himself kept the cowboys in contention warrants recognition as one of the games best!

Yawn.

When you have some facts... please bring them to the table.

If Bledsoe made better decisions he'd make better plays.

Winicki, when YOU have some facts to just MAYBE convince someone other then a 3 week old dead dog that you have a point, then try again. You Bledsoe haters are just like all other player haters- they can never do anything right. I feel the same way about Q and Hambone- but then they deserve it.
