I don't agree on Mcnubb. True I probably have some homerism tinting my assessment but I really think he has been on the decline. I do agree that he was one of the best in the biz as recently as a few seasons ago and of course he was injured this past year...but the dude has put on a ton of weight and his threat to run, which was part of what made so threatening, has diminished significantly. He has always been a good but not great passer. In fact, you might remember there were at least two stretches where McNubb's play was so poor that the philthy media and fans wanted to bench him.
I think having TO last year actually did nothing but rent them one more year of competitiveness that they shouldn't have had and I think Mcnubb's skills have been on the decline. He can prove me wrong with a big year this year but I think they finish last in the division and Mcnubb probably struggles with injury again. I personally think the guy is overweight and too CHUNKY and that perhaps has led to his injuries (there's also a reason someone can't finish a game because they're too tired....)
McNabb has always been chunky and still effective. 2 seasons ago he was utterly dominant with TO there. Last season he still played well, regardless of the injury, until the last game he played (where Westbrook took over and Roy grabbed it).
But everyone always talks about his overrated passing, yet his number just don't justify it. For some reason he still makes completions and TDs, and throws more of those than INTs. If you do that once or twice, overrated is a good word. But he's done this for half a decade. If he plays uninjured and still shows decline, he will slip. But I for one am not going to forget 4 years of Eagles domination over the NFCE just because of one season.
