I agree it's a dumb idea to ever consider it, especially with us being so close to where we want to be. Trading Austin would be a step back towards rebuilding and not towards winning in the next few seasons.dbair1967;3247369 said:And people wonder why I believe we have a stupid fan base.
Yeah, trading young star WR, 1 of 2 biggest playmakers on the offense and probowler for years to come- BRILLIANT!

Austin is a product of the system, you can put any other guy into his slot with a decent amount of speed and you will get the same production. As much praise as Austin gets its really Witten and Roy and Crayton that make what he does possible. Witten constantly demands tight coverage from the other team and Roy with his blocking and ABILITY to make big plays also demands that a team cover him tight. Throw Crayton in the mix and you have 2 good WR and 1 superb TE that are making an Average Austin look great.
ITS ALL HYPE! Now is the time to trade him. This is what we should have done with Barber, trade him when he is at the top. Austin is at the top, he will command the highest trade value right now, trade him get some 1st round picks to really build this team and draft a speed WR in the later rounds to replace Miles Shady Austin.
Anyone that thinks Austin is special really need to take a look at how this offense operates, he is a system player (see Big 12 QBs) trade him and leave the other team holding the bag and laugh all the way to the draft bank.

I feel bad for posters that have "Austin" in their user name because next year when he is not here they are going to look as silly as the guys with TO in their user name.
Lol that's what happened with the Roy Williams trade talk b4 it happened, and it happened.phillycowboyslover;3247417 said:the stupidest conversations on sports talk radio or message boards are trade ideas b/c they are never anywhere even remotely close to reality.

So ill go ahead and get, lets say, Ramses Barden from the Giants, lets see if he will have 1320 yards and 11 tds over 11 games.
kojak;3247426 said:Sure why not. Just stick o-tree in there and we are good to go.

Miles Austin = System Receiver, matter of fact he is not even the best receiver in Dallas...

Seriously.
Roy could have 9 catches this season and they would still want him back as the #1 WR.
No wonder he loves that school so much.
I know.
Why don't the Cowboys trade him back to UT for Jordan Shipley now and Arnie Cocker Spaniel gets some of his wish.
