The only owners and execs following the Cowboys every week, including off seasons, are the Jones clan. Everybody else be like Alice Through the Looking Glass.
So, I'm not really surprised by what Dilfer is saying, because JG is a good man, he's positive, he's easy going and easy to get along with, he's a great student of the game, and he's a man of high moral character.
Having said that all that, he isn't perfect. He seemingly hasn't risen above student, he's stubborn, he thinks it's still the 90's, and he won't make the adjustments he needs to progress. He also has a nasty habit of throwing people/Romo under the bus instead of taking personal accountability, not to mention there's rampant speculation among Dallas fans, anyway, that he can be ambitious enough to sabotage the coaches around him.
All I know is that JG needs a fresh start elsewhere. And if it's true that owners are going away from hiring college coaches, and are back to looking for experienced coaches/coordinators, I can see where Jason G would be a hot commodity for team with a history of losing.
