Lance had 5 picks against practice squad dudes in 1 game........................Dak had 9 picks along with 36 TDs (led NFL) over 17 games last year..........................but Lance showed more good today than Dak has in his career???

This is why I cant take you anti-Dak dudes seriously anymore.
Two things can be true. Lance is not the future and Dak is not the guy to get us over the hump. You can only not take "anti-Dak" dudes seriously if you are OK with a guy that consistently chokes in big games and in the playoffs.

Some of us would rather try to find a new girlfriend than continue to date a hot chick with V.D. (aka Dak). lol!

And by the same token, you can surely see why we don't take pro-Dak guys serious.
With eight years experience, home field advantage against a weaker team, Dak threw a pick 6 and another inside his own twenty to COST THE COWBOYS ANOTHER PLAYOFF GAME .
Every season ends early when the pressure gets to Dak and he chokes.
So you guys can't wait to harp on a preseason game in which Lance was most assuredly encouraged to take chances so he could learn.
You guys are pathetic.
Pathetic and very desperate as the Dak end is near.

Disappointing but also encouraging.

Too many Trey fail over Dallas fans on here. What happened to root for the players on the team?

How was Dak against GB?

I'm not saying Dak was good that game or anything of the sort. I don't want Lance to fail. That said, Lance was bad this game. I hope he plays significantly better next time.

And Trey was not playing with the same?
Your agenda makes no sense.
Trey has been part of multiple training camps and has had multiple years of NFL coaching and has had the time and means to employ professional trainers to improve, so yes Trey should be expected to perform better than them. At this point he should look much better than he does, instead of flashes, there should be more consistency and a better grasp of the basics.

It is there. You all just will not admit it.

I don't get why people don't understand how intellectually dishonest it is to use the "but it's been four years" gimmick.
I do. It makes him look worse. Technically it’s a true assessment but it’s neither a fair nor honest one.

I can guarantee you at least four posters on this forum were worried when Lance was 7/8 in the first quarter, and they started getting more and more gleeful as the picks started to happen.

Unfortunately for them, Lance’s current play is not measured with their “starter” based criteria, and therefore has little to nothing to do with Dak’s contract and future position with the team.

I think someone got in Jerry’s ear and told him (Jimmy maybe) that the team needs playmakers when it matters. And since that was one of the biggest things with Jimmy, my gut tells me it was him, and why we’re seeing a somewhat different Jerry this year.

Another way to look at it is too compare Trey Lance to QBs around his age. And ask how many of them have so little experience that it would take years to develop them as a reliable QB. As none of the ones drafted in the first round recently has had so many questions or doubts about their throwing ability or having the most important skillsets when it comes to what's needed to be a long time franchise QB in the NFL. Which is more than just the ability to run.

Lance being 24 doesn't completely explain why so much time should be needed to see whether or not he is the answer for the Cowboys. Of if he can really be a starting QB in the NFL. Many QBs have been able to come in and win the starting job in their rookie season and have been able to maintain their spot as a starter ever since. And even if they had their moments where they struggled or were down for a few games, they still were proven to be able to pass and throw the ball consistently enough, where there weren't full questions as to whether or not they would be able to develop their passing abilities and be a legitimate NFL QB in all of the areas that matters the most.

Lance having all of these question marks. Lives the Cowboys in a dilemma of having to decide between spending the next 2 or 3 seasons hoping that Lance can develop into a valid starting QB. Or drafting a QB who will passing ability and attribute wise, already have all of the skills and talents that some are just waiting to see if Lance can develop. As by their 4th year in the NFL, they would be way further along than Lance is right now.

Most QB's dont get the scrutiny Lance gets. They just START them....and let the chips fall.

We....are wavering like scared cowards. OOOo...lance has to PROVE he's better than any other QB we have.

Is he BETTER? Is he NOT? Did he throe more interceptions...or direct a pass differently?

Like who has to do that? On such a big stage. It's nuts. Teams ditch their QB and start the other one....ALL THE FING TIME!

Crazy ....what is going on here?

They start because they have done enough to show they can be a consistent starter in the NFL. Lance hasn't done that yet. If those QBs got drafted in the first round. Just to end up falling to 3rd string 3 years later. And have all of these question marks about whether or not they have the skills and attributes to be a true QB in the NFL, then they would be getting scrutinized and debates would be had about them being a bust.

Good question.

How about you have the courage to let Dak go and start Lance?

What do we gain? A super bowl? Hardly!

What do we lose? A super bowl? Nope!

Teams move on and just start QB's. They don't have to go through this MASSIVE PR stunt "try outs" bullship to do it. They start and do it or can't.

I hate jerry for putting both Dak,,and MAINLY Lance...through this BS.

But yet, we have an 8 year vet, that some call elite, that can't play up to his competition in the playoffs. And in many regular big season games.
And yet, ex-players explained in full what happened during those playoffs and why, yet some of you refuse to acknowledge that analysis.

But for a 4 year veteran who still struggles badly with his accuracy or ability to see the field/read defenses, all reasonings are legit and to be taken into account.

How does a rookie QB show he had "done enough"...in the NFL...to start? They DO NOT!

YOu are lead astray with that thinking.

They start and they either do...or do not.

They get their shot and are NEVER>..EVER...vetted as hard as Lance is now.

EVER/
