Noone from the team has said it but it's expected? Expected by who?

Pap expected Dak to be released in favor of Dalton. What did it mean? Is any of this information official?
Nope. Nothing from the team. The only thing officially from the team is that Tyler Smith is cleared to practice. They didn’t even say where he’d be practicing.

All this is, is a ton of media speculation. The same media that said Steele can’t play at this point in 2020.

That tweet says no one from the team has made a definitive declaration, but he is expected to play LT.

He is expected to, by the media, it sounds like to me.

I see nothing from the team in those tweets that confirms he’ll play LT. Only that he is cleared to practice.
I read it the same way

Jane Slater in the NFL Network just said that Stephen Jones said that Walentzko played well and said they are going to stay inside the building on the OL. They were more talking like it would be Walentzko or Ball and not moving Smith outside.

Brian Baldinger agreed that was the best way. He said you have to draft your guys, coach them up and let them play.

We still know nothing about what they’ll do.
What a clown show this team is... if we trot out 2 rookies at LT and LG

I'm ok with a 1st round player starting on his NFL club. Sink or swim rook. Dallas generally knocks it out of the park with their 1st rounders (save Taco Charlton).

More concerned with the faith in McGovern, Biadasz and Steele. I would be ok with getting a vet LT to start because the LG would be upgraded by the 1st round rookie. I'd be ok if they brought in a vet G to upgrade McGovern and let the rookie start outside.

He looked like he got banged up Friday.

I'm not gonna disagree with you, but too many growing pains up front is gonna get Dak killed.

I beleive it’s sprain or sore more so than an injury. Coaches probably played it safe and kept him out. I didn’t see him get carted off.

Having Tyler & Issac on left side will open huge holes for the running game.

Notice this from that tweet:

“No one from team has made a definitive public declaration, but Smith is expected to start Week 1 at left tackle vs. Buccaneers.”

So, that’s not the team saying he’s starting at LT… that is the media saying they expect him to.

We just have to wait to see what the team does. Some media on the NFL Network said they think it’ll be Ball or Waletzko at LT.

None of the options are ideal, but we still don’t know what it’s going to be.

Just getting ready for flag day. Should be a real treat on that left side.

If they said that, they made a mistake. Stephen said that Smith practiced today and is good to go. He mentions Smith and then Welesco. Smith is starting and sounds like Welesco is the backup as of right now.

You have a quote from Stephen saying that Smith is starting at LT? Because all I’ve read was him saying that Smith was good to practice. These tweets here don’t say that Stephen said that.

I don't think we will know for sure whats happening until the first offensive snap of the Tampa Game.

Anybody with any sense can figure it out. They drafted him to be the left tackle when needed. He listed the guys in order.

So it is speculation on your part.

I mean, you very well might be right, but there is nothing official from the team, which is what I’m saying… and why the NFL Network is still speculating. They don’t deal in a “anybody can figure it out” world.

The team hasn’t said that he is going to start at LT.
