And a lot of us pointed out the folly of how the cowboys addressed the WR position shortly after the draft last year. Very few were happy on the return from the Amari Cooper trade that sent him to Cleveland for peanuts. But nobody predicted gallup would be so ineffective this year and a shadow of his former self.
There were plenty of people that didn't chalk Gallup as 100% well before it was even a year from surgery.

It’s all about Mahomes and Andy Reid.

The names at WR do not matter. He’s that good.

IMO, he’s the most talented QB of all time and I’ve been saying that for years.

He's great I todays era were teams can't hit or play Def anymore. Have to wait until a player catches the ball and isn't defenseless before you can even hit them.

Andy Reid might know a little bit about offense and how to get the best out of a QB. He turned Alex Smith into a solid starter. He turned McNabb into a weapon until injuries took its toll. And now he has the true successor to Brady.

Patrick Mahomes is widely known as the best quarterback in the league so why did choose a different strategy when they traded Hill than the Cowboys when trading Cooper?

They traded Hill and added JuJu, MVS in free agency then drafted Sky Moore in the 1st round and traded for Kadarius Toney during the season.

Those 4 players combined for 156 receptions 2041 yards and 8 touchdowns.

The Cowboys traded Cooper for a 5th rounder and added TY, Turpin and Washington in free agency, drafted Tolbert and Houston (udfa).

Those players combined for 12 receptions for 182 yard and 0 touchdowns.

Dak has his issues but this was a massive failure of the front office.
Because the Chiefs actually have a franchise quarterback who you can build a team around who doesn't need Pro Bowl superstars at every position to win.

They didn't go all in as Jerrah likes to say with a middling quarterback and a plodding running back for almost a decade and hope for good results

You can use Massive Failure and Front Office in the same sentence a lot with this Franchise.
Extremely poorly run team.
If not for McClay, this team would be no longer be relevant.
The burden McClay has taken on just to make the Jonesboys look half way competent is just mind blowing. I have said it 100 times. Jerry will tell you exactly how HE thinks....you just half too listen. Here is just a couple of examples just to prove this point.

Scenario #1. The Cowboys re-signed Gallup KNOWING he would not be healthy at the start of the season and unsure if he would return to form at any point this year. BUT....BUT....that wasn't the highest priority. Exacting revenge against Amari Cooper....for whatever reason was the priority...and once we do that...we'll figure out our next move after we get back at Amari. Jerry said the other big mistake was relying on Tolbert too much. Think about it....we were relying on a rookie 3rd round pick from a mid level program to save the day at WR. This is just unbelievable.

Scenario #2. Jerry gets mad that Zeke won't come to camp. So to try to make Zeke look anti-team...he signs Jaylon Smith to an extension. I mean you can't make this stuff up.

Scenario #3. In the prime of DeMarcus Ware, Tony Romo, Jason Witten etc....Jerry signs a head coach in training. Jason Garrett had not been a head coach at ANY level. But Jerry could not wait to look like a genius.he had found the next Sean Payton...and he was not going to let him slip away.

I could go on and on at the circus environment Will McClay is expected to produce in. The talent he brings in is the only reason we play meaningful games most December. But alas the strain is too much...and playing multiple meaningful games in January is too much to ask of this dysfunctional organization. That is when coaching matters...and that is where the Jonesboys take over...because I doubt McCaly has a lot of input on that decision,

Great Takes !!!
You could make quite a list, listing this front offices' epic fails.
How bout they paid Jaylon his 8 million guarenteed salary in the off season only to waive him a few games into the season?

The difference comes down to having a QB whose play elevates those around him vs a QB who needs players to elevate his play. Dak is definitely not in the first category. So it comes down to adding pieces. This is where having a GM who can negotiate a contract based on projected team needs to carry such a guy comes in handy. Sadly we have a fan serving as GM so likely arrives at the negotiation wearing a Dak's #1 fan shirt.
The difference came down to having actual talent replace Tyreke Hill. Let’s not pretend like Dak hasn’t had success with guys he shouldn’t have. Dak made the most out of guys like Gallup, Cobb, Schultz, Brice Butler, Jarwin, etc.

My concern is that if they keep playing him at DE where he going up against OT's that outweigh him by 50 to 100 pounds
How long before he is just used up?
He's having nagging injuries already and he only played 2 years.
They are gonna have to be smarter with him, if he is to have a long career.
Exactly. They have him slamming into Trent Williams half the game. Poor use of Micah and he's not going to last if this is the plan.

Mahomes makes everyone around him better.

JuJu is a glorified Noah Brown. Big slow slot guy.
Toney never plays
MVS is average
Sky Moore is a raw rookie
Beside the point. These guys were highly touted players coming into t the league and they used them the way they are suppose to be used. You want me to believe Mahomes made Kelce and Hill? He didn’t. This is simple roster management. You can devalue Smith Schuster to big up Mahomes if you want but he’s more decorated than any receiver on this team not named Lamb. He’s also only 26 years old. 40 speed means nothing. Y’all have to quick using that to determine how good someone is.

Man Mahomes has weapons just because y’all don’t know them doesn’t make it true. They are stacked everywhere. Just so much talent and speed and then you have the best QB in the league ….

I guess I can just watch him play and see him do the impossible over and over like it’s routine enough times to know he is the show and everyone else is just there.

Kelce is a heck of a player. I can’t deny that.

His WRs are blah and if we had them we’d hate them.

Toney has some real talent but he never plays.

The Chiefs have been banged up at wideout all year and Mahomes just keeps finding ways.

He beat up bad defenses all year. Isn’t that what he was suppose to do?

We can blame the FO, the coaches, Dak, the WR's, lots of blame to go around. Washington had an injury then wasn't liked by coaches and didn't play well. Hilton seemed to play ok but didn't get many targets. Turpin is not a real receiver according to multiple teams just a ST guy, the new kids suck.

Would any of our replacements start over anyone over that group though? I can see maybe TY Hilton starts over Sky Moore but that's it.

umm first off Reids offense is better than ours, BYE MOORE,

secondly Mahomes is elite and fits reids offense because Reid fit it to Mahomes and that includes scheming WRs open.. The fo was counting on Gallup being better but he wasn't , Dak and Gallup missed a lot of games so the #s are skewed...

skewed like we ran a lot more with Dak out about 120 more rush attempts then KC and close to the same average but more tds.. so it was different offense, so really an unfair comp..

I wouldn't read much into it but moore doesn't not scheme his wrs open in fact his route tree Gallup will be better , a full year with TY and whomever they add AND WE WIL BE FINE.

Mahomes is the best QB in the league and legit may go down as the best QB ever when all said and done.

Dak is not close to his level.

Honestly the chance of getting a QB close to his level is slim to none.
Thanks, "PresGOAT".
