Up until now I have steered clear of the Roy Williams debate...

Well maybe Roy is more suited to a 4-3 defense. He did make the Pro-bowl for a million years in a row, deserved or not. Since we paid him big bucks the next team only has to cover his salary right?

I'm guessing we wouldn't get a 1st or 2nd rounder. Isn't that telling in itself though. If we can't trade this "pro-bowl" player for a 2nd day draft pick (I don't know if this is the right thing, I'm just hypothesizing), then doesn't that suggest the level of his play. Otherwise, you'd think we'd be lining up with dance partners.

In all seriousness, maybe Parcells wants another crack at resurrecting the real Roy? Win win for Dallas and Miami, and maybe most importantly for Roy himself. I think Roy could use a change of scenery. Can sometimes help a ton.

LarryCanadian

Can we trade him to a team in the NFC East?

I'm sure Romo, Wit, TO, et al would like a crack at him in coverage for a couple of games each year.

has nothing to do with previous posts, if we had won and roy had a GREAT game I wonder if anyone would be talking about this now...

I am FAR from being a knee-jerk guy, but he is paid to be a playmaker...

The sad fact is that he isn't anymore... so we shouldn't pay him to be that player...

We just need to find a team that thinks he will fit great in their system and get ans much for him as we can while the getting is good.

I'd be calling Detroit to gauge their interest.

Not to pile on here, because I don't believe in kicking anyone when they're down, but seriously...this has been a hot topic after wins and losses.

Of course, it's a no-no to voice any concern - Roy Williams or otherwise - after a win.

Personally, Roy is not high on my hit list for today's meltdown, but he is a consistent issue in our secondary as opposed to being the guy leaving his mark on these types of games.

That's what he was drafted to be. And that's what I thought he was paid so well to do.

I realize with his contract, we are married to the guy, so I won't bang that drum so loudly. Hopefully, we can work around it.

2 interceptions, 0 Forced Fumbles and 0 Fumble Recoveries............I would say he is lacking the numbers to be paid like a playmaker.

Williams should watch this guy play...that's how it's done.

Defending Williams at this point really is unbelievable.

I can no longer do it. This guy is a shell of his former self. I don't know if it was Kelly Rowland, a big payday, or what... One thing I am positive of is that this guy can no longer do it in this system. Perhaps he needs to be in a system that allows him to be one dimensional. We ask for more out of our SS. He no longer strikes fear in the hearts of our competitors. They lead him around like a lost puppy all game long. There's definitely something different about this guy and I do not like it at all.

finally woke up...5 years later...maybe you should go back to all your rebuttals and think about changing them now so that you wont waste time arguing them for 5 years...it will save alot of breath...i.e. that jerry is a good GM...

I never thought I would say it but I have more respect for Harrison and the Patriots and their F-U attitude then ever. Dallas needs to develop it!

The word around the league is Roy Williams is stupid.

Stupid doesn't benefit from experience.

Jerry felt the same way I did AT THE TIME when Roy got his contract. He was a force and it was inconceivable that Roy Williams would ever play for anyone else. He was the face of the franchise. Unfortunately for Jerry, Dallas and the Fans Roy did what no one thought he ever would and took his money and laid down.

Roy hasn't been a force for years...

The fact that Jerry signed him to a big contract was disturbing for many of us...

I would rather have cut him than re-sign him...

Ok, maybe I was an apologist at the time or just refused to see the writing on the wall but you don't need to hit me in the head with a brick more then once before I learn to duck. I can't duck as good as Roy but I duck.

I really don't get why people are upset with Roy after this game. He didn't do anything wrong. He didn't really make any plays, but nobody in our secondary did.

I guess the meeting just let out.

So, is this the official stat-pack's platform?

Nobody else did good, so Roy's off the hook. It's similar to the "who's better on the team" or "name a better SS" argument, so I guess it's not all that unexpected.

I guess Adam will soon be providing stats to support the argument.

You are dead on...

But when you are paid to be a playmaker, you make plays...

He was an also-ran out there tonight...
