He has the strongest arm of the top qbs (depending on how you see Carr). He has the most accurate arm. He has the best mobility. He's the most competitive. He had the best college career.

I just see Roger when I see him. What was it Dan Reeves said about Staubach, that no matter what they were playing that Roger was so competitive that he was always on the winning team? That's what I see with Manziel.

He's a star with swagger. I like that. And if you want to see quarterbacks who liked to party, you should head to the Hall of Fame. It's filled with them.

If he gets to 6 we should definitely consider trading up, IMO.

I've been swayed to agree with you! He needs to grow up but I loved watching him in college. I hope it translates to the NFL.

if bridgewater falls, we better take him.

let someone else take manziel who wont amount to jack in the nfl

I think if Bridgewater had Manziel's skill-set, he would be the consensus number 1 pick in the draft. A lot of the animosity towards Johnny Football has nothing to do with football, IMO.

Exactly. What was it that Jimmy said about what he wants in a player, especially at QB? A guy who can come in off the street and sink the 8 ball under pressure? Something like that. That's exactly what Manziel is. When Nick Saban, a great coach who has been in the game for 40 years, says a guy is one of the most competitive players he's ever seen, that means something.

I still say he's going to need the right coach, though, and Garrett would be exactly the wrong type for him. Manziel is going to need someone with some creativity who will get him out of the pocket. Garrett would use his paint-by-numbers system and call plays like he's Troy Aikman. Manziel plus someone like Art Briles or even Sumlin or any OC willing to embrace some newer thinking would be pretty interesting.

No one is talking about his height and him not staying in the pocket and taking off, which are concerns, they are talking about off field. So you are right, but what happens if this guy is a head case off the field and gets suspended?

Manziel had a nice workout.
Can't wait to see how things go for him in the draft and next year...as a non-Cowboy.

I do think the unfiltered rap music blaring on the loudspeakers was a bit much. But I doubt there were any minors there to hear all the profanity, so it is what it is.

Fwiw, I hear Mike Evans looked very impressive too.

It would be interesting to have a poll to see how many here think he will succeed at the next level and how many think he would fail.

Of course that is something that needs to be considered. A few years ago, Jerry had to make that very same decision on Dez. I think he made the right one.

Getting picked with the 24th pick in the draft, really not a gamble. Taking someone in the top 10, big gamble. But, ya I agree.

That is a tough call. With QBs it really depends on the environment. He has to go where as pointed out before where there is something tailored to his talents and has a good run game. Shanahan's kid might work and they would worship him. They worshipped Kosar for heaven's sake.

I don't know if Manziel will be a head case or not, but I think we would agree that having a massive head case at QB is 100x worse than having one at WR.

I do tend to think that Manziel has that leadership "it" factor....if he can keep his life together.
Kitna had it too, for that matter...except he was a non risk off the field.

No offense to Bryant but I think Manziel is a little smarter and self aware. He just orchestrated a masterful Pro Day. Bryant did not even have the right shoes.

I'm praying/fasting to the football gods.

Please, after suffering thru a decade plus of NFL purgatory, the least they could do is throw us this bone to get a little excitement going for our team again. JFF + Jerry Jones = match made in heaven.

What happens if he's not? Dez appears to be proving the doubters wrong. Why can't Johnny?
