I think so too.

Too hard to hide this stuff nowadays.

My gripe is that Gimbel (the show runner) and Kirkman played this (the Negan moment) as being some big flip from what happened in the graphic novel (Glenn getting "Lucilled") and what we'll get is the graphic novel result + Abraham who get's whacked just a few pages earlier in the graphic novel.

How is this some sort of mega-twist?

I hope it's Rick. I know it won't be, but his constant faux dramatic whispering is annoying **,

Because you had to wait 6 months to see it... Dumbest thing I've seen from this show and it's in another category by itself. When this series is over and they are interviewing the show runners, I don't see a scenario where they say any other part of this show was a bigger mistake.

semi off topic but I decided to watch TWD from the beginning again and I have to ask:

Is TWD pilot the greatest in TV history?

I wish I could watch it again after wiping out my memory and not knowing what it was about or have any idea what was going on.

It must have been really shocking to watch watch the pilot with this mindset and be blown away as you experience Ricks awakening as if you were right there with him.

An incredible pilot imo

The first time I watched the pilot, after hearing about the show over and over again, I was like, "Meh, this show is too dramatic for a zombie show", and didn't even finish it. Several month later, I tried again and once I got to the 3rd episode, I became hooked.

I had a similar experience, I stumbled across TWD while channel surfing and when I tuned in, it was in the middle of a bunch of zombie killings and I watched for a few minutes and thought, what a bunch boring bull **** and turned it off wondering why everyone was so enamored with 60 minutes of zombie killing.

A few years later, S5 was already over and I stumbled across a marathon rerun and happened upon it right as the pilot was airing. After about 20 minutes, I was thinking holy ****, how did I miss out on this and spent the next 2 weeks binge watching every season.

Personally, I think this is a show greatly enhanced by the binge watching option. Having to be cliff hung to death from commercial to commercial and episode to episode would have caused me to lose my interest and bail. Being able to get my fix through the binge kept me hooked and wanting more.

I dont watch week to week as each new season occurs, I let the entire season build up in my DVR and then binge out. I have a feeling I wont wait to watch the first episode of this coming season because spoilers will be virtually unavoidable after its aired

I do not believe, at all, that there will be two people killed by Negan with the bat.

It's going to be one and it will be either Glenn or Darryl.

I'd give an outside shot to Abraham but I'm doubtful on that one.

I am absolutely looking forward to the premiere this Sunday. It's going to be a very good one. I can't wait to see the kill and the fall out from it.

The trailer they had up recently for Rick and Negan right after the kill is awesome. It's an awesome moment right out of the comic that I was really hoping they'd go with.

I hear what you are saying.
Me personally. I disagree.

Don't be surprised if this is actually the opposite of what you just posted.
Might be one of, if not THE mist iconic moments in the shows history.
The moments I am referring to are the Negan appearance then Eenie meenie then the intro on oct 23.

The man that gets (or should get) credit for that is Frank Darabont, the guy who directed "Shawshank Redemption"... The guy knows how to tap emotions.

As great as the series has been, there's no doubt in my mind that it would have been that much better if Frank Darabont had remained as showrunner after season 1.

I was one of those who swore up and down theyd never watch TWD.....Friends tried to get me to all the time, I remember one yr Facebook had a thing where you could make your profile pic into a zombie, and of course everyone was doing it. I finally gave it a chance back in 2014 when I was out of work for a couple weeks and bored out my mind lol.....now its probably my second favorite show behind only Game of Thrones......

Completely agree Yimy. My DVR has been recording all the episodes and I watched the pilot last night with my son who had seen it before (I hadn't). The pilot was just really great story telling and acting. I went a few more shows into season 1 and my kid and I both agreed the show was incredible at the start and somewhere the writing really dropped off.

I'm going to binge watch it on my days off.......

I wish I was in your shoes so I could watch it for the first time again.

One good thing about getting older is I had forgotten a lot of stuff so my second watch is pretty damn good too.

Still cant get over that pilot and pondering putting myself in Ricks shoes. Can you imagine waking up one day to that world and having no idea what happened or was going on?

It fascinates me to think how I would attempt to survive in there.

For me there were 3 "Wow!" moments in the pilot...

-The first was waking up in the hospital and struggling to reach the double-doors with the wooden beam and chain holding the doors shut– and then the dry, wrinkled hand tries to open the door. The look on Rick's face was priceless.
-The second was Rick approaching the park, picking up the bike and seeing the lady-zombie who had been cut in two. Rick's look was like "Holy ****! This is real!"
-The third was Rick going back to the park to put the lady-zombie out of her misery. His little speech, "I'm sorry this happened to you" choked me up a little. It was Rick before he became Shane-like and hardened by many months and lots of hardships.

Yep. Rick discovering what happened and growing into his leadership and survival mode was great TV and the beginning where he walks out of the hospital and then takes a bike he finds to his house was just some really good acting that I don't think we've seen lately and it makes me appreciate why he got the job. What's funny though is I'm the same way in my old age.....I can see shows and movies that I'd already seen before but I just don't remember things like I used to so it's all new again.

In any event. Sunday should be fun even thought he Cowboys aren't on.
