Was Dak Ever Considered Elite

Exactly! After the top 3-4 guys everyone is around the same place and is a product of the team and coaching around them. Put Dak in San Fran with that support and you’ll likely see a deep playoff run. Put him in Arizona with subpar coaching and bad line play and you’ll see a 8 win guy.

After that top 3-4, it’s all about your surroundings. Play for the right FO and coaching staff and your perception is greatly changed. Play for the wrong one and you stink lol.
Yup. Very very few QBs can play in any scheme.

In Dak's rookie season when he took the team to a 13-3 record and claimed the 1 seed in the playoffs, I recall lots of folks calling him elite.

I dont recall that ever. Certainly not in his rookie year either.

He went MIA vs the Bolts for 2.5 Quarters......what else is new in Dak-friendly land?????

His fans are claiming that they don’t consider him elite here, but they were pretty guaranteeing he was on pace for 6000 garbage-time yards in 2020, before he got injured, meaning an unprecedented feat that not even the greatest QBs have come close to.

As I’ve said before, there is always a constant re-writing of the narrative regarding Dak. After his putrid last half of the season last year, his biggest fans started flipping the script that they never declared him elite on this board. Without getting in particular posters on this site, among them folks who claimed he was better than Mahomes or Allen, the following article clearly establishes that people were actually challenging the general claim that Dak proved himself elite, meaning this was a common perception that needed to be addressed.

The numbers aren’t changing since this article has been written. Even without taking into consideration the win-loss record, Dak is horrible when it comes to TD/INT numbers against quality competition and the stakes are high. 2021 was actually a greater demonstration of this very fact that Dak is a garbage-time QB that is basically in the category of a Goff, though we haven’t seen Dak on a team anywhere near as bad as Detroit. Both of them were horrible on their later progressions and both of them were on good teams, beating up bad opponents.

You can’t claim it’s because of the ‘defense’ he loses.
Too much use of the word "elite".

Dak is not Elite. He is, however, a clear top 10 qb in this league.

Guys like Mahommes, Allen, Rogers and Brady are the only Elite in the league at Qb.

Yes, in his rookie year, in 2016. Granted, he was closer to that level in 2021 than he had been since that first year. Currently he's a decent QB & therefore, he's listed in the top 10.

top 10 is better than decent. But you already know that. At least your little ego had you finally admitting was top 10.

Probably because they get injured...like Dak did.

Nope, dont remember that one either. More lies from a resident troll.

Again, just admit you were dead wrong about Dak and move on.

Yep not even sure that Brady can be considered elite this year

I would call his rookie year performance Elite for a rookie qb.

There are few, if any, that have ever had better seasons.

Again, QB's dont win or lose games, teams do. Until you figure that out and understand how that works you will never be able to stand up in a meaningful football discussion.

As far as Dak every being elite, he has NEVER been in the top 5 of the elite. He has certainly had stretches in his career where he was playing elite. It typically coincides with the state of the Oline. When dak isnt running for his life and he has a semblance of time to throw, he largely picks apart the defense.

Clearly you didn’t read properly, as this article clearly distinguishes between elite QB play when their teams lose against GOOD teams and bad QB play. Dak is on par with Goff when playing good teams, while having really good teams I might add.

And this trend has always existed with him, even going back to college.

QB's dont all of a sudden change from not elite.

Hes having not as quality a season because his Oline sucks and his receivers keep getting injured. Brady is still Elite.

No, there are very few that fit that label and even ones that have had that label like Brady, Rodgers and Wilson are struggling right now.

Prescott is in that 2nd tier and was actually in the 3rd one in the only game he played this season.

So your synopsis was a lie then? Well that is par for the course isnt it? No I read as little of your drivel as I have to.

Goff is not in the top 10 were Dak firmly resides. But again, you have been wrong about everything else, why not keep going?

It's shocking that anyone ever called Wilon elite. He's always played like this, albeit a bit worse now that he's 33. Inconsistent. Got bailed out by running game and D. He hasn't sniffed a super bowl since that D started fading.

key words being couple. Josh looked like trash against the Steelers in the opener while Dak played arguably his best game. Following week Bills defense was dominant and won 35-0 with Allen having like 160 yards or something like that. And then he caught complete fire. More importantly though, why are you arguing with me after I already admitted I was wrong in the first place lol.

I wasn’t sold on Allen either until I got to watch more of his games last year, as most of his numbers up until that point were built off play-action and they were not unleashing yet. And I’m more a fan of Herbert anyways.
