Trading Chad would be very costly for the Bengals, they just extended him in 2006.

I doubt he goes anywhere. Or hope anyway.

B-Lloyd: If you're listening to a guy like Troy Aikman, and you're a fan and you don't really know much about football, then I'd see why you're confused. ... Theres no such thing as an easy catch in football. Theres no such thing. ... I don't believe Tory Aikman anyway. He wasn't man enough to admit his personal life situation as a player.

as a skins fan i'm not happy about this. i'm not anti-cj, and we've seen this kind of maligned player redeem himself after switching teams. i just think we have more important needs on the DL, and would hate to give up one or more high draft picks -- those trades haven't exactly worked out for us lately.

As a skins fan who would throw him the ball anyway? LOL! Palmer wasnt good enough for him, what are the chances your flubs will make him happy?

jury's still out on jc, especially going into a new offense (obviously bad news, tho he's done well in a west coast offense before), but he's not a scrub. more importantly, w/ a healthy offensive line, the run will be more of a threat. meanwhile, cincy's a bottom-tier defense, putting more pressure on the offense. i'm not saying jason > carson, but there's more to consider than just that.

you've got a point, keeping cj happy is definitely a concern. but who woulda thought that brunell would've given moss 1500 yds 2 yrs ago?

And let the Commanders light us up for 300+ yards every time we play them?? It's amazing Cowboy fans, most of which who vouch for T.O., can look at a guy like Johnson as a plague. Did some people forget who our #81 is?? Better yet, did yall forget that if they switched places, they'd be carrying themselves the exact same way. Let's not fool ourselves into thinking if this team goes 5-11 next year, Owens is gonna be all smiles and about team.

zzzzz

Overreact much?

My take is that Chad just wants to get as far away from Mr. LookEmDown&HangMyWRsOut2Dry as possible. I wouldn't be against a Johnson Owens combo with Crayton in the slot and the capability of going 4 wide with the addition of an adjusted Stanback. Romo would be in heaven.

They have to get under the cap before they can do that.

Isnt Washington like $20 mill over the cap and Chad makes like $9 mill yr in Cinci?

If you do the math, dont they have to cut $29 mill BEFORE acquiring johnson? How in the world are they going to clear $30 mill, cut half the roster?

I have ZERO belief this has any shot of actually happening. They're like 25 million over the cap, right now, and this move would force them to get that cap room off plus another 8 or 9 million for Chad's contract. This move isn't going to happen.

Yeah, theyre interested, but they're not going to have any wiggle room to make it happen.

If Commanders history has taught us anything... they will give/pay too much.... in the end it will be to Cincy's benefit.

I think an underlying story here is... Carson doesnt want that KeyThug on his team

Trust me when I say this, Iam not a B.Lloyd fan, but that first video Im pretty sure Lloyd thought the pass was going to someone behind him. Hence him ducking and then looking behind him to see if someone caught the ball. As for the 2nd video...haha i remember that move...pretty sweet especially when we got an extra 15 yards because of a Unnecessary Roughness Penalty on you guys. You guys want Lloyd right??????

What should we do? Its hard to handle two people like that. C. Johnson is good and I'd hate for the Commanders to get him but the only way to stop it is to get him ourselves. And I say no to that

:lmao2: Don't make excuses for him. If the ball is within 2 feet of my head and I am an NFL receiver with the opportunity to catch it in stride and go It doesn't matter who's behind me.

Yeah. If he hadn't pu**ed out there would have never been a penalty.

Thats exactly what it shows though....he was not going to be able to catch it in stride. The ball was thrown a little behind him. Trust me, I dont wanna defend Lloyd, I dont want him on the team. Haha as far as him Pu**sing out I agree that he did, but only after getting the first down. lol that video still cracks me up.

Come on now, Lloyd is not that bad. I think Gibbs and the team didn't like him because he was not their choice. They were force to insert him in the line-up by Dan. I thought he was a good player when he was in SF.

Also, how sweet would it be if the Cowboys get Lloyd and then he does really well in Dallas?

yes

he is

there's a reason his teammates in San Fran called him 40/60, he's an inconsistent, sloppy player, who can't play receiver, or rap

Or maybe as many times as Campbell put the ball on the money only to have Moss drop it.

Moss also dropped balls that were high and behind him

Campbell is an incredibly streaky passer, just accept it

Salary Cap math isn't the same thing we learned in first grade. By trading CJ, the Bengals would be responsible for his entire signing bonus, and other guaranteed bonuses, while the Commanders would only be on the hook for his base salary. This is the major stumbling block to a trade because it's unlikely the Bengals would want to take such a major cap hit (I'm unsure if the entire remainder of the prorated signing bonus would be applied this year or spread out over two years).

After recently reworking three deals, Washington is currently anywhere between 12.3 and 16 million over the cap depending on the source. Converting Cooley's roster bonus into a signing bonus will save a further 9 million, and there are several other veterans with high base salaries that can be converted into signing bonuses. It won't be difficult for the Commanders to get about 10 mil under the cap, with part of that allocated to the rookie pool. Expect the Commanders to have the same kind of offseason as last year with one major signing and a couple of minor ones.

I can't wait to have lloyd off the team, but I don't believe his teammates ever called him that. Do you have a link?
