Running Backs have had it and came back that season. Just not sure about QBs. How it would affect the throwing motion having a plate in there. Probably nothing, just have never heard of it.

It's the left collarbone so it shouldn't affect his throwing motion IMO.

This will help him. He's going to come in 2016 refreshed. The rest of his body had Alot of time to heal especially that back

Surgery is the only way to return the shoulder support structure to its original end-to-end configuration when there's a complete clavicular fracture; otherwise the clavicle will be shortened. Since it was his non-throwing shoulder, that was less of an issue, but now he's had a rebreak before complete union. With the offseason ahead, there's no reason not to repair it properly, instead of having the bones heal side-to-side.

The internal fixation is not used to make the bone stronger; its purpose is to hold the fracture site entirely stable so that proper anatomy is maintained during the healing process. It is not sufficient to set this type of fracture and expect to stay in position, since it can't be casted.

He'll be fine next year, until the next violent sack.

How would you say strength will compare to normal (if he had not injured it at all). Same, 80% etc...thanks in advance Doc50

Heal up #9...can't wait to have you back in the huddle. Cowboys are a totally different team with you out there.

Shhhh. Romo mafia be in their feelings.

I know bro

They are probably reporting me for not talking nice about every player. Especially Romo

Like the guy, thanks for what he did, but all good things must end 1 day.

I hear you.

I just think for his health, and this team, he needs to hang it up.

I disagree, Frozen (respectfully). If we had a solid QB in the wings then I think the position should at least be a competition. If we were sitting like Packers were when Favre was at the end of his careers, then yes. We are not there and probably won't be even if we draft a guy high this season. Tony Romo can still play some pretty damn solid football, bro. People can hate all they want (and, no I'm not calling you a hater) but, for now, Tony Romo IS this football team. He's got a huge contract and a desire like no other to win. We can't eat the contract and makes no sense to trade or cut him without a solid backup plan in place. Lest I remind you of the void at that position between Aikman and Romo. You don't just change for the sake of change unless you're into the Cleveland Browns roadmap to success. They are the perfect example of what your franchise looks like without a QB. We actually HAVE a QB.

One more thing: Look at all the QBs in this championship weekend. The only one younger than Romo is Newton. Romo IS a championship caliber QB and he's absolutely capable of being exactly where these QBs are next season. He needs help just like these guys do. Cam ain't doing this all by himself. He's got a hell of a defense. Ditto for Manning, Brady, and Palmer.

Address the future of the QB position? You bet, and NOW. But cut ties with Romo just for the sake of it? Franchise suicide and minimum 5 to 10 year set back.
