As things stand right now I think 9-7 and a playoff birth could get him coach of the year. I just don't see this team being very good. I hope im wrong though.

Posts like these that basically say "the Cowboys suck but I hope I'm wrong" are getting very old. It's really an insult to the intelligence of the rest of us that you think we don't see the agenda.

Whats my agenda?

I don't think we're very talented and our coaches don't give us any advantages against = or better talent. For me that leads to us having a bad season.

Now if a lot of questions get answered defensively, Marinelli and Linehan give us advantages with their schemes, and we stay healthy then we might have a decent season.

I expect the usual though. Mediocre at best season filled with built in excuses for Garrett.

Not sure I agree with that sentiment... pessimistic view, sure, but not sure that he's saying that the Cowboys suck.

Yea, right. Most of his posts are negative towards the Cowboys. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot to be unhappy about with how Jerry's run this organization personnel wise over the last 18 years. If you're a REAL Cowboy fan, and not some sounding board for ESPN spewed hate, then you'd see that there are some real and fundamental changes happening. This should give Cowboy fans hope moving forward.

I completely agree that there are some great changes happening right now. I'm very excited for the future of this team. But with that said, I think this might be a season of growing pains. The potential is there for a good core of guys in the years to come, but I don't know if it will all come together this season. So I can understand the doubts about our success this season. However, I personally am excited about this season and think we'll grow faster than we think and surprise some people.

Give me a break.

There were supposedly all kinds of great stealth changes happening last year, too. I guess you were outraged when people said this team wouldn't go anywhere then also.

I rarely get outraged and never about anything Cowboys related. That would be a waste of effort.

People complaining about having to read post after post just because they refuse to use the ignore function.

If it's really that hard on you, do yourself a favor and just put people on ignore.

Would you feel better if he said that the Cowboys suck and next year it could be worse? After these years, it could be possible, but he doubts it.

What gets old is people with a knee jerk questioning of the allegiance of any fan that reaches an objective conclusion that this team could struggle mightily this year due to a porous defense with a plethora of question marks

The hype around Bill Callahan this time last year was ridiculous.

I think he does a good job coaching linemen but when you give him anymore responsibilities then that is when you are in trouble.

Deflect and re-direct. Classic response.

I think the standard with a lot of the fans has been lowered.

I still see the Cowboys as far and away the best franchise in the NFL and we just don't live up to those expectations and a big part of that is how we are managed in the offseason by our GM and how we are managed on gameday by our Head Coach.

Yes, we are doing some obvious things that need to be done like letting D.Ware and Miles Austin walk. I can't say for sure that would've happened in the past.

Then we get to draft day and give up a 2&3 for Lawrence and turn around and get horrible value in the 4th round and wonder why we have no depth.

So it's like for every step forward we make we also take 2 steps backwards. Hire Bill Parcells and then follow it up with Wade and Jason.

They have much higher standards for coach of the year. 9-7 won't do it.

I agree, but I think that it was more "anybody but Garrett" enthusiasm at that point, and then it turned out that it was still mostly Jason after all.
